Theater Seat Options..

My wife has decided that she wants either a pair of theater seats or a loveseat to go in the living room....
who am I to argue about a pair of theater seats..?!!
Not that I would win, eh Jesse..!!
Anyway.....I need some options..
Please post some toughts and links for me..
Thanks guy`s....I see a whole new theater/living room comming on..!!
She went to a friends house and they had a screen/projector set-up , and now she is really into it...
again, who am I to argue..!!?
Seat`s first...screen/projector around or after Christmas...(I hope)
This will not detract from my quest for Cary though, so , although the seats must look nice and be well built, let us not forget it`s winter and the leaves have fallen off the money tree..! (ie;keep costs down)..say , a pair of nice seats for around a grand or so...
Thanks for your help...

Take a trip down to your local Tweeter and try theres out for starters. Lazyboy sells a very cool seat in rows or single. Most furniture stores now are carrying some kind of theater seating. Nice today as years ago they where almost out of hand.
One other option is look into Salamander. They have 3 different chairs and all of them are very nice.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
beardog, whatever you do, sit in it first. i got a set of 100% leather (no vinyl match) POWER recliners. although i love the damn hell outta them now, my body needed an adjustment period with them. the set i sat in at a larger furniture chain here in town felt good right from the beginning, but would end up costing about $2000 more than what i spent. but internet is the way to save money, even with the shipping price. i abso-friggin'-lutely love the la-z-boy home theater offering, but man, for only a set of three it was like $5500! i got all five of mine for just barely under $3000 delivered.
here is a pic when i first set them up. i have since removed the protective plastic covering the footrest.

In a living room situation, I think I'd go for a couch/loveseat over a theater chair (mainly for the overall versatility of them).....not to mention that the couch/loveseat would be a MUCH less expensive option.comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

Try looking at a double reclining loveseat. That way, you get to prop your feet up as well. I personally like Lane's rocking/reclining loveseat. I don't have one yet, but I've sat in one for extended periods of time and enjoyed it very much. The Lane loveseat can be had for $600-$800, depending on the model. I have the Lane Flashdance Sleeper Sofa and like it. Another plus of the loveseat is the extended fabrics available. Theater seats are usually limited to leather, so a few more options are even better.
Have fun with the new upgrade(s).

we are going down to look at a laZyboy loveseat with the recliner built in to match my laZyboy recliner..
The theater models just don`t fit the house decor...

I must say, I tried out many makes and models of H/T seats and the ones I settled for were the Berkline 090's. Didn't spend to extra cash for the power reclines but I wish I would have. You can see what they look like in my showcase.Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!
-
the berklines are kinda pricey. the thing i like about powered recliners is that they hold their position wherever you let go of the bottons, even in mid-travel, whereas regular non-powered recliners usually have fully up-right and then reclined positions. also be sure that the seats recline to a full horizontal position.

The Berklines come with a pretty heft warranty. I have a berkline sectional and it is nice. It's warrantied against workmanship and defects for the life of the couch. In other words, if a cushion wears out, I gotta pay to fix it but if one of the reclining ends breaks, they fix it.
Anyhoo, I got a sectional sofa that has recliners at either end with a large ottoman. I think the total cost was $1800 but it is a nice couch. Everytime I sit on it, I fall asleep! I don't think anyone would be disappointed if they spent the cash on a Berkline piece of furniture. It's nice stuff and worth every penny.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

EWWW!!! If you wanna go with the "white trash" motif, I suggest finding a few junked minivans and pulling the rear bench seats! If you are lucky, you can snag the folding rear seat out of a conversion van! just hook up a 12 volt deep cycle battery with a ratty old set of jumper cables and you and your honey will be livin in S T Y L E, style!
Hey, teh best part is, if you get too drunk to sit up straight, the seatbelts will hold you in place!Expert Moron Extraordinaire
