Hi all, newbie here. Can anyone recommend a center channel speaker to go with the 1.2TL's? Tweeters have been changed to the silk domes. Biamped with a 4 channel DBX BX-1. (Sold my SDA-SRS's about 6 years ago, always regretted it so recently purchased the 1.2TL's)

Rear speakers are Polk SDS-400's. Soon will add two SV 20-39CS subs, or one Hsu Research VTF-3 Mk 2, when I decide which I want. (Also not decided on which SV subs; CS, CS+, Ultra, or go with one SV powered sub.) Subs will be placed behind the mains against wall. My system is primarily used for music. Will add system components in signature later.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
Mains; SDA 1.2TL Silk Domes, upgraded xover, biamped w/DBX BX1 200wpc
Pre-amp: DBX CX1
Center: CS1000p Rear Surr.; f/x1000
Parasound HCA-1205A amp; Center & rear
Sub: SVS PB12-Ultra
DVD: Denon 3910
Tuner, FM: Onkyo Integra T-9090II
Cassette: Onkyo Integra TA-2090
VCRs: JVC HD4000U digital, HRS8000U SVHS
Signal Processing: DBX; 10/20 EQ, SNR-1, 120X-DS, 3BX-DS, DAV-600G Router, Onkyo EQ-35
Conditioning: Monster AVS2000, HTS5100MKII

I wish I were in your shoes... but I would not mess with a center unless you gave a CRS+.

as far as SVS you will be satisfied. I'm running dual cs+ and the only thing I need to change is the Samson amp. Junk in my honest opinion.

I find the LSiC to be the best tonal match to the newer tweeters.

Hi HBombToo. Thanks for the info about the amp. If purchased the SVS's, I was going to purchase the Sampson 700 from another online store as it is being sold for about $100 less than SV gets for it. But also looking at a Crown K-1 to power the subs.

In my honest opinion don't mess with the Sampson. For my HT, if any upgrade were made, a move from Sampson to Crown is the only thing that makes sense.

Thanks for the input guys. Polks recommendation for a center channel speaker to match the 1.2TL's is the CS1000P, then the CSi5 over the LSiC of the newer speakers available. Have read the CS400 is as good as the CS1000P if you have a subwoofer. Still not decided on a center speaker, but not spent time on it.

Instead of two 20-39CS+ subs, I purchased a PB12 Ultra in Rosewood as B Stock from SVS. Nice!

After upgrading my SDA1C's to the new tweeters, I found the CSi40 to be an excellent match. I liked the match enough I bought a set os Rti28's for the surrounds. Now I am looking for FXi30's for 7.1.

I think the Lsi tweeter is more laid back than the new silk domes, and the CSi5's tweeter seems to be brighter.

There is a CS1000p for sale on Audiogon. I have never heard the CS1000p, but I have used the following speakers as center channels, with SDA SRS's, in my HT system:

    1. Pair of SDA CRS+'s,
    2. Pair of LSi9's,
    3. Pair of LSiC's,
    4. CS400i.

I liked the CRS+'s the best. I am currently using a pair of LSi9's for center channel duty.

+1 for the CSi40. I have one between my SRS 2.3's with the upgraded tweeter. It's a seemless blend, a great timbre match!

I totally agree. I don't know why polk doesn't list the LSi's as the match, other than they wrote the info before LSi's and replacement tweeters were available. Time for a literature update!

The info from Polk as to the CSi5 recommended over the LSiC was obtained from Polk only about 2 months ago. They did not mention anything about tweeter upgrades.

    Thanks for the input guys.
