here is a new sony player, it not out in usa yet but that a look it will be in competition with the pioneer dv-47a or dv48a

    well ite a new sony es model, they dont give a #
    but here what is haves
    1, es dvd/sacd multi-channel withdual pal/ntsl progressive out put
    2, dvd vidieo, vidio cd,and redbook cd
    3, precision drivers (2) , with fx
    4, superaudio cd multi-channel play back
    5, dvd-rw (vr mode) play back

    Joe,
    whenI went to Sony Trade show a couple of months ago, they sais they will not include DVD audioin there new DVD player's.They don't support the format.
    Sony has alway's made great DVd player's.Among the best around.

    yes it is to good to be true, you can go to europe to buy one of the receivers that haves the multi-channel digital input to go with the new sony., they should have one some where whats the piont on making a player that haves the out put, there mite be a changs they will make one.

    not only that , they get it in cool **** silver and gold color's.We for the most part get stuck with black
