I was outside with my cat and thought this might be a good topic of discussion. I am a cat person myself. How bout everybody else?

I've always been a dog lover, especially Cairn Terriers. Just recently my fiancee brought a cat home and I've grown quite fond of him, but I can't say I like cats nearly as much as dogs.

I prefer dogs simply because they are a companion more so than a pet. A cat is a great pet cause theyre cute and cuddly and fun to play with but they really have little interest in hanging out with you. Dogs do.

You should also consider that dogs are good guardians. Even better than serveilance camers:rolleyes:. My neighbor's dog runs outside whenever it smells me outside. That's about everday, since I walk to and from school.

    1 dog
1 rodent of some sort of the boys(hamster, I just can't believe I allowed a rat with no tail in my house)

    Couldn't agree more.

I always say I "hate cats", but I don't - I'm a big animal person and alwyas like cats when people have them, I just wouldn't want to have an animal in my house that wants nothing to do with me. There's a reason they call dogs "man's best friend".

I don't mind animals as long as I don't have to take care of them. Then again, I have a connection of sorts with animals. They seem to like me even if I shove them away.

1 dog, 2 cats (also turtle & fish).
The dog is a 135 lb barking & sheading machine. Can take stuff off the dinning room table without even stretching her neck.
One of the cats is a little on fat side, the other only 1 lbs (and over a year old). I think I'm going to guiness for the worlds smallest cat (at least alive one).

I prefer dogs, myself. They listen to you when you tell them to do something, and are far less snobby. We've got 3 cats, 1 dog, and 2 horses.

Oh, and the face licking thing can be taken care of. Our dog doesn't lick anything but himself and his food bowl. He also doesn't jump on furniture. You just have to train them at a young age what's "okay' and "not okay".
