yamaha rx-v2500

I had the yam in to fix a broken optical jack. When I hooked it back up, no sound. On the front panel the straight/effect blinks as do some other lights and it gets stuck on staight mode.(locks up) Any ideas?

you could hook up to another available jack to see if it is the connection or the receiver, if you have a coax or rca cable to spare, in either case it probably needs a return to the shop

I had a similar problem once that required I reset the receiver. Below is a link with instructions on how to reset the rx-v2400. As I recall the steps are the same for the 2500. Hope this helps!

thanks. Yes it helped. still no sound. I will try hooking the speakers direct (no amps) to see if i get sound.

I hooked the front speakers direct. The yame plays for 3 seconds then nothing. At least I know its not my amps now.(same as with amps) Guess I call the stereo store tomorrow.

Does it shut off after 3 seconds or does the sound just quit?
