That's great....
....it smokes my Denon #685 stereo receiver with features. That wild retro look is quite different from the normal run of the mill receiver too and the price for the two channel people isn't too bad.Denon #2900, Denon stereo receiver, Conrad Johnson Sonographe 120 amp, Blue Jeans cables, and Klipsch RF-7's -

Come on PnP you know us 2 channel guys don't use receivers . It sure looks nice and has some great features."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? It's about time....They unveiled the prototype over a year and a half ago. I think folks had just about given up that it was ever going to be built."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I noticed they bumped up the WPC to 100. It was originally 75wpc (where the 2150 model # designation came from). I like the subwoofer out with bass management. I just might have to look into this one."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I don't like all the knobs on it, it reminds me of some NASA stuff from the 60's. I bet it's pretty cool though. If I were looking for a stereo receiver I'd check it out.

me likey. might be tuff for them to market though. do many people buy 2 channel recievers anymore?
It would be cool if this sparked a somewhat mainstream return of 2 channel. I wish this thing was out when my dad was still alive. He allways wanted a very good quality 2 channel reciever, but it was like no one made them anymore, at least not near his price range, and he had NO interest in seperates, despite my reccomendations. this would have been friggin perfect for himLiving Room 2 Channel -

She looks soft warm and cuddly......but she also looks like shes been dipped in oil.......
I would be head over heels crazy for that receiver if they could have squeezed a couple 200 watt monoblocks inside that cabinet........
....but still......I like the looks of it and the controls look easy to locate which on most receivers you might as well break out the magnifying glass.Denon #2900, Denon stereo receiver, Conrad Johnson Sonographe 120 amp, Blue Jeans cables, and Klipsch RF-7's -
I was reading in Stereophile recently that the European market has tanked for surround sound systems. Most people don't want 5 speakers and a subwoofer in their living space, and are happy with MP3 or similar sources for stereo music. Also, more European consumers have been buying turntables this year than standalone CD players. The MM/MC phono stage seems to be reaching out to these types of consumers. Maybe the U.S. market is swinging in this direction too. Since the receiver is probably a sharing effort between Taiwan or Korean engineering and production that could be sold globally, the global switch to compressed audio (note the USB port for connection to a computer) in a stereo only format for general consumer use is probably what's driving the production of this kind of product.
I think it's a good idea overall and shows Outlaw isn't stuck in a single-minded rut with their designs. -

I agree. I like the knobs on the black model better. I could play with those ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT!Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro

I love the design of that Outlaw. NOtice the curved 2/toned design theme on both the front facia and the top left corner. Very nice. Oh and she's not too bad herself.
