Nice enjoy!!! Lets hear what you think after you get her settled in.

That's fine, let him think about it "PRIVATELY". We have given him all the info and links he needs to make an educated decision. Adding more is not doing him any favors, just adding more confusion. If he wants a remote, there have been a couple of decent examples given that have remotes. If he needs 3 inputs, there again, there are plenty of examples with three inputs. There's even at least one with both( the Dared SL2000 has both I believe). This is not that hard of a decision to make when you have the help of the experienced members of CP aiding in his education. He knows that we'll not steer him wrong. I also hope he does get what he wants and soon, because I don't believe he'll be all that impressed with his new toys while using the Denon AVR as his pre. If he's patient and quick, he'll find a decent entry level tubed pre on Agon or EBay for around $300 or so. Or if he can do without the remote he can go ahead and get a new ELP for $439 after adding another input, from Tweek Geek. I'm all for helping Bliss out, but this has gone past the point of helping and to the point of TOO MUCH INFO.
Nice Ricardo, and yeah, let us know what you think, maybe it'll help Bliss make his decision."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

If the remote is that big of an issue, let me remind all that Jolida makes a passive pre with remote for around $200. This is a great help for those find a tube amp but don't want an SS preamp to take away the signal magic.
Oh No!!! I have just injected another choice into the decision processes.

Nice piece isn't it!
I'm really surprised that it gets zero press. A true passive preamp from a trusted brand with remote to boot. I don't understand why it isn't the bomb for alot of systems. It even has dual outputs to allow you to use a powerful SS amp for bass with your little tube amps up top.
If someone gets one of these, we need to know how it works. Please review!HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

HTrookie - Congrats on the purchase! Please do let us know what you think of it once you get it broken in.
ND - I know I'm probably asking too many questions and waiting too long, but the waiting is a necessity. It's going to at least be a few months (if not more...unless a miracle happens) before I can get one, so having too much information and making the decision-making process take longer doesn't matter, because I have too long to make up my mind anyways. Unfortunately.
Dennis - That is certainly an interesting looking pre. Do I understand correctly that it is a passive unit?George Grand wrote: »

So true LOL:D. How about we change that to the first seperates system. Since going tubes, I've set up my NAD C160/C270 combo in my parent's room with a pair of RT5.

It is a passive preamp (no boost), it lowers (attenuates) the full power signals that pass into it. It is powered in the sense that it switches the outlets on/off and the remote circuit has power to run the remote, but there should be no "sonic signature" added. This would be perfect for someone that has a tube amp looking for remote control.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

Oh, and about not keeping my first pre...I can pretty confidently say that I'll be keeping for quite a long time. (Read at least two years....or more...)George Grand wrote: »

The only piece I will keep forever is my Dynaco. She took my tube virginity and and is the sweetest sounding amp to my ears.
