I was thinking about picking up a denon AVR-3805 to power my rt55is(4), but I seen this at bestbuys. The Pioneer VSX-1015TX sales pitch. It's simple: our top-of-the-line VSX-1015TX dishes out intensely great home theater performance. It's the world's first receiver to process THX Select 2, for high-impact, multi-channel audio for cinema, concerts, and gaming in rooms of up to 2,000 square feet. It also features advanced surround processing, with DTS-ES Discrete, DTS 96/24, Dolby Digital EX, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx decoding. Pioneer's Digital Core Engine performs all digital signal processing with one powerful, compact circuit board, for a shorter signal path and less radiation. A double-precision, high-speed (180 MIPS) Motorola 48-bit DSP the same chip used in Dolby and DTS theater systems worldwide delivers a super-accurate PLL sound-processing clocking module, very low jitter, and virtually no audio degradation. The VSX-1015TX sends 120 watts of equal power to all seven channels. Advanced Direct Energy MOSFET discrete transistor amplifiers offer high-power drivability, ultra-efficient amplification, stable imaging, extremely low energy loss, and ultra linear ouput to all channels. And with Automatic MCACC, the VSX-1015TX actually measures and calibrates your audio system for sonic perfection specifically for your living room, regardless of shape or size, automatically. With Microsoft, Pioneer co-developed a Windows Media Audio 9 (WMA-9) Professional Decoder, allowing you to listen to two-channel and multi-channel WMA compressed audio files. Plus, Video Conversion up-converts S-Video and composite video into component video, for a simpler, higher-quality video connection to your TV or Panel. Included are a full complement of connections (with a digital optical output) and a new LCD remote. Power Amplifier Design: Advanced Direct Energy MOSFET Surround Power: 840 Watts Total System Power - 120 watts x 7 (20 Hz - 20kHz .2 THD @ 8 Ohm) Stereo Power: 240 Watts Total Stereo Power - 120 watts x 2 (20 Hz - 20kHz .2 THD @ 8 Ohm) Digital Decoding & Processing Digital Engine: Double Precision 48-Bit Motorola THX: Select 2 Certificat What do you guys think? I know the denon is one of the highest quality products on the market, but is also 3X THE PRICE. Is it worth it? will the pioneer provide quality CLEAN sound??

Go with the Denon, it's a all around better receiver. Now if you take a look at the Pioneer Elite line, new ball game. The new 74 is killer.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
I dont want to Hijack the thread but I am also interested in VSX-1015TX, and want to replace my Denon AVR-2802 with this. I will only be using this Pre-Pro only as I use Carver multichanel Amp to drive my speakers, therefore I am not that much interested in the Amp section. I am interested in comments from some one experienced with latest line of Pioneer receivers from DAC/DSP engine perspective?-izafar
