Buddy of mine is building a dedicated theater room 22x17. His budget is 15K for a Projector, Amp/Reciever, DVD and speakers. FOr speakers he wants all in wall system. Not sure whats going to happen with sub since he wants that hidden as well but might be able to talk him into an SVS or something. Wanted to get your guys opinions on what he should get for projector and amp/reciever and if he should go 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1. i have my opinions but wanted yours as well.

Yamaha and Vidicron make excellent around 5 k guns. Have em stop into Tweeter and check out what they have to offer,

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
There are no Tweeter stores in the St. Louis area, but American would be a good place for a lot of stuff. Fireshoes works in one of them.
I would go with a 7.1 setup with LSi inwalls all the way around. I would also get the Outlaw 990 preamp and 770 amplifier to run them. Get a decent Denon DVD player(what used to be the 2910, which I think changed).
As far a projector, I don't know.
Hope this helps.

Hi jeremie,
I am a Jeremy also. I second the Outlaw pre-pro combo, plenty of power and quality for the $. If he plans on going with in-wall speakers, he most likely does not give a hoot about 2 channel playback. The Lsi inwalls should do well. Personally I am a 5.1 guy, but if he can swing the extra wiring, go for 7.1, 10.1 or whatever he chooses.
As for the sub, tell him to check out the Sunfire's. Small but very nice with a good crossover.
