which to get
I have some rt25i and rti28 along with a csi30 and polk sub.I'm building a new home and will be moving current system into the game room.So i'm looking to upgrade.the new space will be about 15 x 15 .I don't know whether to go with a lsi bookshelf model or maybe the rti10.i will be running another sub.Maybe I will just keep the current system, as it sounds great. My only concern is not enough speaker for the space.Looking for suggestion??

What are you looking at...2 channel or HT?
What's your budget?
What will you drive them with..or you also need to buy the receiver/separates?
Wow...endless possibilities...._________________________________________________

The RTi10's will fill up the space very nicely. I have a 12x28 room and they perform very well in it and fill the room so well, you swear the rears are on during 2 channel listening. If you get the matching CSi5 center you will be in heaven. You could go the RTi8 route..they are known to be less bright and more midrange orientated while the RTi10's are brighter and more midbass.
....however
You will need more power if you intend on keeping your Onkyo to push a pair of RTi10's and some rears and center. While the high current amperage is nice, once it reaches its level it becomes a distortion magnet and the RTi's will make it reach that level. -
which reciever do you run to push yours?

I have the Sony ES STR DA-5000ES.

what about using a seperate amp for the fronts. What brands of these do you know
-
Carver(or Sunfire), Outlaw, Parasound, Rotel, NAD, etc. There are more choices, but these are the first that came to mind. What budget are you looking to stay in? Are you looking new or used?Tschüss
Zach -
i don't know I have never had a seperate amp for the fronts
-
the rti10 are rated up to 300 watts per channel so i guess i need at least 150 i'm not sure what that costs
-
if i had to guess a price, i hope not to go over 300 for the seperate amp. if i go much over that the i might as well buy aa new reciever with more wattage
-
You can get a used (good) 200 W per channel for around 200 or less...._________________________________________________

-

You can find that pretty cheap other places. A bunch of guys in avs use them on their RTi10's and love the sound. -
You will still be happier with the separate amplifier, however, I'm not sure the 501 has preamp outputs. One suggestion I might offer would be to get the RTi8's and a better sub(possibly an SVS PB10 or PB12. Keep the receiver for now with the RTi8's Later, upgrade to a new receiver and get a separate 2 channel amplifier.Tschüss

hrmm..good idea. Now why didnt i think of that -
if i get the 8s will i want the 10s.cause if so, i will try and find a new reciever and or amp now i don't want to buy my speakers twice i don't upgrade all the time have a family and a wife that holds my wallet haha
-
This might be a tough call; many people prefer the 8's over the 10's; the ideal solution would be for you to hear both and decide for yourself....but there are not many places (if at all any) where you can do this......I know this does not help...
If you ask me, if you have a good sub, the 8's sound better...but that's just me..._________________________________________________

I went to a local Tweeters out where i live and I was able to demo all 3..8,10,12
I personally preferred the 10's over the 8's due to the clarity the 10's have over the 8's. I didnt feel the need for the 12's as i have an SVS sub.
But as HTrookie said.."but thats just me" -
i was just looking at the svs subs are they really that good??I like the way the pci and the pci plus looked .which one do you have

with that much bass response it might also be a better call to go with the rti8 as some said
