Found a pair of these at CC this weekend on one of those open box deals. They had a couple of slight nicks and were missing the grills. CC was asking $200 for the pair. Is this a good deal? They also had a pair of open box RT2000's for $300 a piece. I'm just looking for rear channel set-up cause nothing will replace the SDA1B's up front. Thanks.

for $200, you are getting alot of speaker for the money, bute as mantis said, it's only worht it, if YOU like 'em. be careful of the CC open box. i brought a pair of 55s home a couple months ago, and one had a blown driver. no problem to return, just kind of a pain...

At $200 I think the 55s are a gimme. Even if you don't like em you could recondition the scratches and dents and sell em back for more than that. That 2000 deal is sweet too!

Well, I took the gamble before I got an answer from the board. I hooked them up as mains right now to my Parasound amp. They sure put out a lot of full sound for a bookshelf speaker. I played them in 2 channel and they sure sounded sweet. Whatever I played, they handled well. (Albeit, I had the sub on too.) I'm guessing that I got my money's worth. May make a call in to cust. service to get a price on some grills though. My 12 y/o son keeps "eying them (drivers) with bad intent."

Thats the 1st Tull reference I've ever used.
