just out of curiousity- what's the difference between the TL's and these? And HOW MUCH higher up the ladder do these SDA speakers go? I mean geesh...

edit. I looked it up. These ARE in fact the TL's (whatever the hell that means)-

These are the 1.2 tl models that were sold in 1991- the last year these kind of speakers were manufactored. According to the MSRP these are the most expensive of the SDAS at $3,400- higher than the original 1986 $3,000 SDA SRS.

So this is it, eh? I must say i'm impressed. I read a vintage review of these speakers via Stereo Review. Very impressed.

It was decided that these are 1.2
    http://polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28742
      One of the current bidders
hifidoctor was the seller back in May.
They are in the same apartment building (check out the light fixtures on the walls).
The current auction description is the same as the one back in May.

Shill bidding or just coincidence? Bid carefully.

You really get a feel for how freakin huge they are when there is a person standing next to them. I knew they were big but it never really clicked for some reason.

Yeah it is kind of sketchy when people bid on their own auctions...

Not soo long ago, there was a pair of mint 1.2TL listed on Audiogon for $1800. in Council Bluffs...They lasted about 3 hours...

My e-mail was 10 minutes late...put e-bay/audiogon in your favorites, and check often if possable...they do come up for sale in the midwest, but not every day...

They look like the same ad, but if you will notice the railing is differant. In the previous auction the railing has small circles on top. Also, the previous pair have quite a bit of oxidation on the crossover plates. The 1.2's pictured in the current ad show no oxidation. As far as the previous seller bidding it could be that he wanted to get another pair again. I have done the same thing...... Twice.

Now I'm not saying that it's not bid pumping, but these are worth every bit of 1800-2K in my book. They look extremely clean. One thing thats odd is how they have the red and black binding post caps on the same sides? That seems a bit confusing.

    CAN'T BID!!!!!!! I WON'T BID, I HAVE NICE SPEAKERS, I DON'T NEED ANYMORE........MUST RESIST........

    Damn SDA's are soo enticing.

Good luck to any polkies going for these...

The railing is different but but certainly the same style, sometimes to save money people use a slightly less fancy rail in the less traveled areas of a building. I'm going to guess it's the same building just another area.

Looks like they are in the "business".

Very nice looking speakers from what I can see  .....
