Was talking to my friend Chris today at lunch and got some disturbing news.....

A friend of his, who is a sort of aquaintance of mine ( I bought the CJ PV-7 from him) killed himself a month ago. He was going through some personal issues with his ex-wife and so forth, got drunk and blew his brains out.

This is the THIRD person in the last ten years I've known to take this route.

Why am I posting this? Hell, I dunno. I don't even know what to think except it makes me angry. Take a look around. See what's REALLY important. I think a lot of us tend to obscure what's really important with various sundry items and issues. Call your loved ones and tell 'em just that. Hug your wife, kids, dog, husband, life partner...whoever. I'm just saying, see the forest for the trees, brohams.

I hear ya bro. I ran into my best childhood friend a couple years ago before I moved out to Texas. Tried looking him up again once I moved back here and he too took his own life, and over a woman. Its sad and does make you think especially about how things can change in an instant and things youve known forever can suddenly be gone.

Ugh, I just sat back and thought for a minute, I've personally known a lot of people that have killed themselves. weird.

Its sad when someone you are supposedly "close" to kills themself, then you sit back and think when the last time you saw them was, and why the hell didn't you see them more often.

Last year a friend of mine did the same thing. We were all talking to him the evening before and he seemed perfectly normal. He had even talked about having some work done on his house and spending extra for some type of material which would last for 50 years rather than going with the stuff that would last 10 to 15 years. No woman involved either. Weird.

This is a really sad part of life... I lived that same situation a few years ago... one of my uncles got high (cocaine) and blew his brains out, his mama found him laying on the floor of the house, already death, when she was coming back from the store... she almost had a heart attack right there :(

These people are into their own pain so deep that they can not see past it and what it will do to their loved ones...In my line of work I have seen firsthand how truly ugly and devastating suicide is. Not something you want someone you love to see or walk in on. Very sad and disturbing.

Suicide is a selfish act. The people who do it are concerned only about themselves and they are obviously so far down that they aren't thinking about anything except making the pain and anguish they are feeling to stop. I know. My condition has had me close so many times I don't like thinking about it. The only reason I'm still here, and will continue to be God willing, is because of my family and friends.

I can honestly say I've never been close to actually committing the act, but have thought many times how it would make the pain/anguish go away. But, I COULD NEVER do that to my family and friends. I actually get sick to my stomach thinking how much of an impact it would have on my parent's, brother and close friends. I could never put them through that. I'd rather be absolutely miserable my whole life than make them feel the pain of losing a son, brother or friend. It what keeps me pushing on when the going gets tough. Plus I have this curiosity to see where my life is going to lead me. I want to be there at the end of the natural journey. It's tough because depression is so debilitating.

I know of acquaintances that have committed suicide, but never a close friend or relative. If feel horribly sad when I hear about people committing suicide. It doesn't matter if it's a stranger or someone I casually know or god forbid a friend or family member

life is boring when one loses his/her zeal for life. tragedies make things even harder. i've become quite the hermit myself as of late. thank god for all you people here in this forum. you all actually keep me pretty occupied. hopefully we all meet in a better place in the end. just gotta push through life and enjoy the good moments. hell, pursue building a home theater system to keep yourself occupied if need be.........that's what i did. i think things get worse, but eventually will all become better in time.
