I owned a pair of RT7's at one time and really enjoyed them. Bass response was pretty good. I since sold them and acquired a pair of Monitor 5 series 2's. I also enjoy the M5's. I wish I still had the RT7's for comparison purposes. I'm really interested in knowing for sure which speakers sounds the overall best. I'm curious now. That means bass, midrange, soundstage, etc. Anyone own both or one of the two pairs and have an opinion on the 'overall' sound?

One of my customer's have a pair of Monitor 5's in his music room.He won't give them up.We tried to get them and replace them with new speaker's but he wouldn't budge.
He has Adcom 2 channel amp and pre amp. They still sound pretty good.We are going to move them for him and put on stand's.Also rewire his system, after we rewire it ,I will tell you what I think of them.
No rt7's sorry. They were nice as I heard them play years ago.

I have no experience with the Monitor 5's however I have heard some of the other Monitor series, most notably the Monitor 7C. I will go on record saying that the 7C has a slight edge in overall bass response. Having said that the RT7 is superior in all other respects. Great stereo image, soundstage width and depth, detail...you name it.
