Hey guys I am going back to school to get my masters, so this will be for a small room. It's main purpose will be for music, but will be used for movies as well. I am going to be running a 3.1 channel system down there leaving my surrounds behind. Ill be using a HK 235 w/ rti70's up front and a csi40 in the center. I also will add a 3 channel amp or 3 monoblocks. What do you think would be the best subwoofer for my situation? Any other brand reccomendations as well? I would like to stay under $500. Thanks

Chris

Hsu STF 1 or 2 for music and movies in a small room are similar options to the Outlaw. You can't go wrong with any of them.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

Any of the subs mentioned above will get you in "trouble" if you are in a dorm or apartment building. They should all do great for music and home theater with the HSU/Outlaw design getting the nod for music.
See profile for rigs. Nothing else here.

The Outlaw LFM-2 is similar to the Hsu Research STF-1, but with a somewhat larger enclosure and a slightly deeper port tuning frequency.
