And this is because sealed enclosures provide enough pressure to 'protect' the woofer by keeping it from over-extersioning (new word..:D) itself, while the ported enclosure would allow the woofer, if not set-up properly, to kill itself by digging lower than it actually can. Is that at least some what right? Can you elaborate on that some?

    Thanks.

    thanks for the info fellas...
I think I'm gonna use only 1 Aluminium Sub 12" (or Titanium whatever is available) in a sealed enclousure, or should I go with 2? weight is a concern here... and I don't know if 2 subs will sound *a lot* louder than just 1...

I need to learn more about CA :o

If memory serves me correctly, two subs verse one with the same power should a gain of about 3 decibels. Not really that much. But having two will allow you to run a lot more power to them before reaching their limits (since you have two of them), thus allowing them to play a lot louder without any distortion or muddiness. Unless you have a really huge area to pressurize, I'd say one 12", especially of the likes of Eclipse, you'd be just fine.

Hehe, yeah you could. However, that'd require a different box and so you would incur extra costs. Of course, you may be making your own box, in which case it'd just take extra time and materials.

But to really take advantage of what two subs have to offer, you'd need to have a more powerful amp. So, that's another cost.

But hey, it's all in the name of audio-nirvanva...it's worth it.....right? ;)

Not a big deal actually... importing cars may sound like it but is not.
I import cars from the US (the one you don't use :D Nissans, Hondas and the like), fix them up (if needed) and I sell them locally, I make about $1200 profit on each car I sell.

The best thing is that I don't have to move my finges just my wallet... my partner pick up the cars, fix them and sell them... and he send me the $$$...

Sweet deal as far as I'm concern...

Whao...that does sound like a pretty sweet set-up.....so...how come you're not able to get a 'nice' amp now?:D

What kind of turn-around time do you have from importing them to actually selling them?

Takes about 1.5 months to buy the car, fix it and sell it (ship takes around 1 month)... I have all my money on the cars right now so I'm poor... besides that I'm only 22 years old so i'm not rich... :D

you're right... especially if you take into account that the average waige here for a person my age is $400 per month (I make $1000 per month at the agency thanks to the fellow american travelers) plus the import cars profit = $2200 per month...

and $2200 here in Costa Rica is A LOT of money...
