My neighbor decided that he wanted to do some four wheelin' after seeing some of the pics we've taken this summer, so he bought an '05 Rubicon and we took him and his 4 year old on a trip to see some of the high country and the Aspen leaves....

Very nice pictures Frank......I hear that the change of seasons in the midwest are something to behold......though I'm sure I'll cringe just knowing i'm about to be freezing my teet's off.....
I don't remember if I've asked this before, but what type of camera do you use? Your pictures always look incredible....comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
Thanks Brett! It's hard to take a lousy picture when you're in God's Country! I use a Kodak EasyShare DX4900 4.0MP. It's great for general purpose pics but lacks the features for taking action shots or portraits. For the high quality pics I use a Pentax SLR and good ol' fashioned fim. No scanner so I can't post any of those.

I guess I need to confess that just about all my pictures that turn out okay are sheer lucky shots, kinda like this one....
Although the picture is sharp and draws the viewers eye around the bend in the road wondering what other scenic wonders await, what magnificent landscapes could be a bit farther down the road, or memories of a childhood long ago.....
When in fact I stuck the camera out the window at about 35MPH just to see if I could snap a decent pic while driving and not have any bugs impact the lens. -
Frank:
Just guessing but is that Guanella Pass? Nothing like 14,000 peaks and the green and gold (with the occasional red) and the deep blue sky.
Thanks fore the reminder of my homeland.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

Nope, not Guanella Pass. We were in the Collegiate Peaks Area, Mt, Princeton. Harvard, and Yale are the most recognizable names for most folks. Access was via Nathrop which is south of Buena Vista.
Do you ever get back to Colorado? -
wtf is that purple thing? btw I think that is my favourite pic out of the bunch.
edit: nvm just realized it was light / glare hitting the lens. -
Beautiful pictures Frank!

I usually get back to Denver every summer for week, to see family. Funny, the collegiate peaks was going to be my second guess. I just wish the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest was during the summer rather than Oct., would love to see that event.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

Thanks for asking!! -
Those are great! Biggest downside of living near the Gulf is that we rarely get good fall colors. Oh and there are now hills.
