Upgrading Rti8 to Rti12

Bizill: You are right. My sub 505 is good and my Rti8 sounds great. I think than i should buy a new amp or preamp to upgrade my sistem. The Rti12 werw in my mind only for the ego..you know...That babies are bigger speakers in the Rt system but...I think give another time to my Rti8.

And, of course I will go for the Csi5 center tomorrow.

What kind of preamp I need?

Remember, my sistem is only for music and will be:

Rti8 Fronts
Rti6 Surround (or Fxi5 what you think?)
Csi5 (tomorrow)
Psw 505 sub
Csi3 Surround Back

I think than is better change the surround, the Fxi5 up and off the Rti6. And not change the Rti8 for the 12.

only for music? just what you described would be the way to go. keep the rti8's and rti6's. get yourself a csi5 and forget the fxi5. and better amp if you must. i'm surprised your system does not make you happy.

and yes, i also almost fell prey to the egotistical rti12. not that it is not worth it. i'm sure it is superior to what you or i have now. but i do not want to get a separate amp right now. wanna keep it simple..........for now.

If you say than for music is better the Rti6 then should be true. I will keep for now my Rti8 and nevermind the ego for today. After I will buy the Rti12.

You have Rti8 for fronts and surrouns, what can you say me around this. Are you happy.

all sounds lively and encompassing. i feel it is good -- no, great for movies and music. my harman has good power and i love it most because it is also a video switcher. i used to always have to switch my cables around to use different gear. satellite, dvd, analog cable, digital cable, xbox, vcr - yes, vcr, other satellite box. television only has so many inputs. now i put everything trough my harman 7300. plenty 'o coax and optical digital inputs. a handful of component inputs. even a six/eight channel input. all is well.

from there all signals go to my tv via one set of component cables. except for my dvd player. that goes in with dvi to my tv.

Well, my Rti8 were newly loved...

In the Dolby Pro Logic Music II they sounds very well...My sub 505 now has a upgraded sound and is better.

With another old stereo receiver I take a pair of Csi3 and is playing like Surround Back in music, I love my system now.

Rti8 Fronts, Rti6 surrounds, Csi3 Center (I don´t need a better center beacuse in Dolby Pro logic Mode: I am upgradind the sound to left and right and I am cutting the center...the sound is better for me. I can do this thing thanks to my Marantz amp). Csi3 surround back (in stereo with another receiver), and the Psw 505 upgrading the volume.

I think than I don´t need the Rti12. And I am seeing than the Rti8 has bigger midbass, is 6 1/2 " and in the Rti12 is only 5 1/4. i think the Rti12 is more expensive only for the 3 woofer but I don´t need that today in my little room.

hooooorrraaayyyy!!! yippie! saved you some money and still made you happy! well i'm glad you kept your rti8's! i'm listening to classical music right now. never listened or cared for it in the past, but my four rti8's make it sound great!
