Alittle late as I heard she died some time ago....

A customer of mine had a cd f her and I felt her voice was incredible. Also got me to look at my system and wonder even more.

She did a remake of Time after Time, well worth the listen

    Hey Mad,
I don't know how to classify her. I would say acoustic soft rock.... really soft rock kinda Blues , kinda jazz...... You listen and decide.

Music Direct has "Time after Time" and "Songbird" (mastered by Steve Hoffman) on 180g vinyl. "Live at Blues Alley" is supposed to be good too, but I think that's only on CD. She was a local DC performer, mostly doing shows in jazz or blues clubs. She seemed to become very popular around the time Norah Jones' first CD came out.

My wife introduced me to her stuff quite some time ago. She does have an amazing voice, almost haunting at times.

Nice to know it can be had on vinyl.

I wonder if there is a SACD or DVD AUDIO? I'm gonna have to look. If not I think I 'm gonna pick up all her cd's.

My Mom has this CD... I gave it a spin...

A haunting voice is not the right word...

    Amazing sounding... pure and simple.

I don't think so. I would go to allmusic.com and listen to some of the clips. I think their voices are lightyears apart.

I find this to be a great post. I think an Eva cd will be my next purchase.
As my equipment improved, it seems Norah Jones's sound gets worse, and Alison Krauss's keeps getting better! There are other artists that sound worse as I upgrade, but Ms. Jones's work was a real disappointment.

That's the joke of good audio equipment. The better it gets the worse the music sounds. Few cd's are really up to mid to hi-end stuff
