Car Subwoofer in HT use?

Hey all, i was able to aquire 2 Infinity 1230W 12'' Car Subwoofers for extremely cheap. At the moment i have no use for them in an auto, i was wondering if it would be possible or even worthwhile to build an enclosure and use them as HT subs? Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? Does a Car sub driver have basically the same effect as a HT sub? i would purchase an amp for in home use and build an enclosure...

Let me know if this is worth it since i just have these subs sitting around, and could use an extra home sub. thanks guys!

They will work, just match the amp you choose with the ohm configuration of the subs. Do a little digging on box building.

Make sure you model them in something like winisd before you spend much time building. From what I read most car subs rely a lot on cabin gain and don't dig very deep in home applications. Sorry I don't know about the specific ones you purchased but am sure if you post the t/s parameters someone would help with a box size and an idea as to how low they would go.
