I'm going to hook these two together so that I can display the song name/title on the control pads throughout the house. Is there a document describing the methods for these types of things, or at least the RS-232 commands?

Thanks.

Isn't this the Polk Audio troubleshooting thread? I purchased this product, I expect that somewhere there would be a reference.... someone, please?

You would need to contact B+K to see if they have created a protocol for controlling the XRt12. I believe (and don't quote me on this), receivers are slaves on RS-232 commands and they cannot control other RS-232 based devices. I could be wrong though...

B&K Can control other RS-232 devices, however I need the control strings to be able to do this. According to your sales literature this should be possible, however no one will provide me these strings. What is the problem?

Again, you need to contact B&K to see if they have created the protocol for controlling the XRt12. Unfortunately, we don't have the man power or time to find out the ins and outs of every company's product and how the RS-232 commands should be handled.

Found this on another forum..may help

    Contact Polk Tech Support -

Ask for the XRt12 Custom Install Guide (Version 3 or better) and Custom Installer Web Site. The Guide includes the RS-232 commands, and instructions on how to load a firmware upgrade...I would include the link, but Polk asks you to prove you are a dealer, and not to distribute the information. Also, the site requires a password.
