In ceiling placement (measurements)

I am totally sold on using all RC65i's in a 7.1 configuration. But, I am not sure of the placement of the speakers (as in the measurements from the sofa). It will be going in a room with 9' ceilings. The 57" TV will be in a corner (hence all ceiling speakers and no wall speakers). Some say the front and center speakers should be 7 - 8' in front of the sofa? How far back and apart should the back speakers be placed? What is good spacing for the fronts and center? Also, can I put a ceiling fan directly above the sofa without hurting sound quality? And let's not forget the surrounds.
Well, you get the idea. Can anyone please help!

Corner positions work out with inceiling speakers nice. Place the center c hannel speaker directly over the tv and point the tweeter at the listening position. Fan the left and right inceilings in a straight line out at least 8 feet apart or the distance between the tv and the seating position. The center can be out of line to make the distance correct. Point these tweeters at the seating position.
The rear speakers should be placed on the sides of the listening position. You should BOX off the room with the rears lining up with the fronts.
The surround back is exactly that. If your seating is against the back wall, the surround back speakers need to be close as possible to the back wall. If the seating has space behind then leave about 2 to 3 feet behind and keep the surround back speaker about 3 to 4 feet apart.
Inceiling speakers have such a position advantage. This is why they work so well for theater. If my livingroom had a lower ceiling (mine is 14 feet ) I would go all inceiling myself.
Good luck with your project.
