Listening to Klipsch Speakers

I realize many of you consider the sound of Klipsch speakers to be an environmental and atmospheric hazard.
I'm deeply concerned by this.
I have spoken with Paul Klipsch about this, and he was kind enough to contact the Klipsch R&D Center in Hope Arkansas -- with a mandate to find a way to protect Polk listeners from the detrimental effect of horns.
Preliminary reports from Klipsch R&D have been very positive.
They have forwarded me a beta design that will go into production shortly. Items will be distributed free of charge to any Polk listener who fears contact with horns.
Below is the design presented to the Polk community.
Bose immediately filed suit -- claiming. "We've had this on the drawing board for some time." .

Dean,
I'm not sure but do you own any Polk's at all??I don't remember reading about your's.Just your Klipsch's you keep talking about.
About the suit's,a bit on the funny side but as well takin an offence.Listen dude, we all have Polk's in here, I think you know that.I 'm not gonna bash your speaker's because they are nice, just not for everyone.I think some of your posts have been really good. But why all the pressure about Klipsch???
I feel like this...........let the Speaker's speake for them self's.Klipsch is in good electronic store's like Tweeter and you can go here them with good gear. Not Polk's anymore but thats my own battle.
People in here don't like Klipsch, and some do...cool right??
Just be cool with it.
The suit think is still funny, it made me laugh, but offended me at the same time.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
...well, I can see being offended if it was me wearing the suit to listen to Polks -- but it's a suit for you guys to keep you safe from horns. It's my acknowledgement that you don't care for them. I just thought I would turn it into something fun.
No, I don't own Polks. But I jumped on this site a couple of months ago after I started hearing some good things about the LSi series. I was checking things out, used the Dealer Locater -- and stumbled across the forum.
I would like to buy some LSi9's for my 2nd system I would like to build. I've had a bit of a setback financially -- so it will have to wait until fall.
I have well over a hundred posts here, and you will not find one where I bash a Polk speaker.
OTOH -- In a thread you started you made some very sweeping, harsh statements regarding the sound of Klipsch. Yet you never gave a model number, the equipment it was hooked up to, the setup -- or anything. I mean, Klipsch has 5 different speakers in the Reference line (and two of them use completely different horns), and they all sound pretty different depending on what stuff they are being pushed with. I heard some RF3's on a pricey Yahmaha receiver last year and I thought it sounded horrible.
I can also tell you that I do not care for ANY of the old horns. Heritage, KLF Legends -- I refer to them as 'earbleeders', and I've taken alot of **** at the Klipsch site for saying so.
There is a way to say things that do not offend. You could simply say you feel the Polks image better, that the Klipsch are too forward for your tastes, and that they sound 'hollow' somehow. That's cool. But no, you gotta say they don't image at all, are just up in your face, have no depth, etc. Yeah right -- and YOU are the one that's offended? I thought your generalizations were inaccurate -- and I addressed them in the thread.
I also deserve the right to defend my listening tastes. It's not that I'm pushing Klipsch -- I just like to explain why I like them. I especially like to do this when I read comments that I know do not apply to the sound of my system.
I've been doing this since the 70's and I've owned lots of different stuff. Most stuff -- no matter what it is -- can sound damn good if the equipment is matched up right. I've owned Advents, AR, Boston Acoustics, Bose, MacIntosh, Magnepans, and now Klipsch.
Yep, even a set of Bose 901's -- with a good equalizer -- kick some pretty good ****.Dean

Maybe it was a reeeaaaalll good equalizer. My brother had some 901s (poor electronics). Talk about hollow. I've call them hollow sounding on here before so I'm not just following suit.Make it Funky!
