Being somewhat of an old **** myself (but not as old as Jesse), I am kind of spring-loaded to the "Take the advice of the man who restores furniture and works with wood for a living" position.

You can get entertainment like this all day long at the other site Troy. Just go there and bad-mouth the Pioneer "CS" series of speakers or the Pioneer "SX" series of piece of **** receivers. The morons come out the woodwork like nobody's business. Then you can question the C-V speakers, the Infinity "SM" series, and anything made by Sansui for all the laughs you didn't get by bad-mouthing the Pioneer stuff.

Then there was my absolute favorite dunderhead question from there..... "Hey, can I use two RECEIVERS to bi-amp my AR-9's?" That fool should be laid flat at the bottom of the Empire State Building, and have those receivers dropped on his head from the 102nd floor.

Well... after reading through this thread... I feel pretty normal - what can I say?

Oddest thing I do is take my system down and clean it head to toe then set it all back up again...hmmm

My weirdness of anything comes from my slight OCD ;) - I hate mess, I hate dust...

woo. now that i think of it, i've used piles of dirty laundry, in a fit of frustration, to kill floor reflections, laser levels to set up my speaks,.. and there was that time, i don't want to say how long i spent, massaging every footstep into just the right spot on dark side of the moon...

oooh,.. i would feel so much more sane if i could just be satisfied to sit and watch wheel of fortune.

neo, don't worry about that equalizer thing until you're using a real time frequency spectrum analyzer and make templates to slide your controls to for fast transitions to different curves,.. woops, forgot to mention that one.

oh brother, i'm not opening this thread again.

I bought a new NAD C270 amp and as I was inserting it into my audio stand from behind, the weight of the amp caused me to fall forward and I hit the top of the face plate on the amp and I put a miniscule ding in the amp's paint. I spent half a day trying to match auto paints to the NAD grey and to this day it pisses me off!

I'm now up to the following pairs of big floorstanding speakers:
    NHT 3.3
    NHT T6
    NHT T5
    Polk RT3000p
    Polk RTi12
    Polk RT2000i
    Klipsch KLF-30

That's not even counting what could possibly be just around the corner, or even the paltry set of Polk RT1000i.

    The madness must stop somewhere!
