If you could only keep 1 item of your current set-up, what would it be? What is your favorite piece?

Mine...the MF A3CR preamp.

    my Parts Express banana plugs...

Just kidding, I'd have to keep the McCormack TLC-1 passive preamp with outboard power supply.

How do you have a passive preamp, with any power supply, much less outboard?

    Apparently it's passive-aggresive.

    I have one too.

The McCormack TLC-1 is a unity gain line stage that has passive and buffered outputs. I believe the power supply is mainly there to help with the buffered outputs, but the TLC-1 is supposed to be plugged in at all times. However, it will work without being plugged in.

Stereophile's Review probably could describe the design better...

I have an email somewhere from Steve McCormack where he might go into more detail, but I can't seem to find it...

EDIT: Quote from Steve McCormack's upgrade web site
Although the TLC-1 is designed as a "passive"
preamplifier (one with no gain), it incorporates a high-performance, actively-buffered output section in addition to the purely passive output. This is done so that you have the option of using long or high-capacitance interconnect cables, or amplifiers with low input impedance (25Kohm or below) - options unavailable to owners of purely passive designs. This circuit is built of active electronics, but has no gain - which is why it is referred to as a "buffer." The circuit itself is deceptively simple - just a matched pair of JFET transistors. But it takes a very complex and sophisticated regulated power supply to make it really sing. In addition, it must be built with the finest parts available to compliment the performance of the TKD volume controls. Many people feel that the active buffer provides better bass performance and infuses the music with more dynamic life, but at the expense of the incredible purity of the passive output. Now, you don't have to choose! This upgrade is a complete rebuild of the active circuitry, resulting in a buffer of surpassing clarity, transparency, dynamics, and, yes - purity, too. You no longer have to be concerned about the length and type of interconnect you run to your amplifier, or which amplifier you choose.

It would have to be the speakers, if I can keep all speakers at the same time.
I could still put flowers on them or let vines grow up them I guess, maybe use them to hold pictures.

Naw I guess it would be the T.V. so I could still watch T.v. and it has it's own speaker so I could still hear it.

Yea the T.V. is my answer, come and get the rest of the stuff I guess. :D

Would have to be my Cinepro amp. All the rest can be replaced at a price simiar to what I got them for, but the Cinepro would be not only hard to replace, but very expensive to do so. Currently the best bang for the buck I have gotten.

Other than the recliner, if it were one piece I could keep and start over from there, I'd keep the SDA-SRS speakers and never look back.

My monitor 7s would stay without a doubt. Close second, depending on my mood - A/D/S L810s.

Every other piece I have is expendable. (sadly)

I might fuss over the Hafler DH500 - but not much.

****, I like my AR TT too. Well, almost every piece.

TV 50" dlp Samsung. Everything else was bought on a tight budjet and I would gladly up-grade all of it.
I would geep the dvd player though. I guess I would have to hide it from the people that are coming to take "all but one".

My CTC amplifier....the rest is easily replaceable and not uncommon.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
