    Derail

I am sure in the vast majority it is a comprimise. There is often limited funds to maintain the dreams and ambitions of multiple family members. If both partners are open to what they ultimately want, there is a much better chance of both parnerts being satisfied.

What often happens is one shares what they want and works tword attaining his/her goals. The other says nothing then one day comes home with $3000 worth of speakers (just to make things even and to the other partners surprize) and all hell breaks loose.

Well, it is a family thread.

It should be an equal partnership. The spouse should be able to participate in the 'gettin' too. One sided selfishness causes problems. Once the family responsibilities were taken care of, we both had things.

I just couldn't have another dolly. Unless it was the two wheel kind. :D

I kind of want some 2.3tls now.....

But.. but... but... the women I see who support what their hubby wants are in the lower income ranges overall. It is the ones who seem to have a lot who are so intense on controlling the inventory. Seriously, I'm just wondering. One thing I've noticed is that if the hubby seems to appreciate something the women seem to be jelous of it. Does that play a part? Are the women so intimidated by their mans appreciation of something other than them that they can't put up with it? No wonder I'm single, huh?

There is another way to look at it. What if hubby has all of these toys and spends more time with them instead of with her. Or just treats her as another toy to be trotted out at parties & used for sex. Seem reasonable for the woman to turn slightly jealous.

Some men seem to think that the world revolves around them & what they want. Some never bother to grow up & realize there are other people in the world besides him, and they have their wants & needs too. Including their wives!

Now if the woman is stupid enough to put up with it just so she can be surrounded by a lot of whatever, that's on her.

I'd personally dump his insensitive **** in a heartbeat. These traits are usually easily seen before marriage therefore, avoiding the entire mess.

    married?.....yes and no.
I am in a committed long term relationship, and we've been living together a long time.
Supportive? Yes, who do you think helped me carry those big dogs in to the house? My lady did. She's a good sport, and pretty damn strong.
Rock climbing does that to a lady.
Does she think I'm nuts.....yes....but she doesn't make a big deal about it.
The fact there is only one chair in the 2 channel room bugs her, and we're working on it. Of course, that opened a whole issure of choosing the right matching chairs etc.

I'm lucky in that I have a lady who digs a good audio and theater setup.

Theirs a difference between a hobby and obsession :D My wife loves the HT and hated to see the 2 channel rig go when we had to sell it.. we aren't rich either but i can have what i want.. if we have the money, BUt with that said it gets alittle self centered to have like 32 pair of speakers that don't even get used.. This isn't a comment about you Luc, Cool collection of speakers... Just kinda a statement in general.. share and share alike, I think it depends on/if how shallow the woman is and materialistic... My wife never wants anything to the point where i buy her stuff that i know she likes.. and she is far from materialistic.. some are and don't want their guys spending to much money on them selves... Ive been with my wife 12 1/2 years been the same from the get to

i like your thinking... myself. i try and sell something whenever i buy something. For instance. I have three CD players. I don't need 4. so i sold one off. Seriously, you can only listen to one at a time.

I'd like to find a pair of monitor 10's, but to do that. i'd have to get rid of either the SRS (ain't gonna happen). or the beloved Monitor 7B's. with peerless. I just don't have the room for that many large speakers, and to buy something. i need to raise the money by sellling something off. it keeps me grounded in this hobby.

    have a good weekend all.

Oh. I would never ever even consider that! I am a very considerate thoughtful person. I would never let my SDA's be trotted out and used for sex. We have a very intimate and loving relationship.

We go to concerts, movies, sometimes even just sit around and listen to the news together. It's the perfect relationship. Sometimes there is a little negative feedback if I bring home some new amp or something but overall we seem to be in tune with each other. Don't repeat this but some of my friends seem to have a 5 way thing going. To me, it just isn't proper. I guess I'm just stuck in a more conservative time...

I'd enjoy that very much. It's quite possible I'll be out in western PA again next summer reenacting a battle so maybe I could swing down and around your way on the return trip. It's something to think about for sure.
