movie cities

I watched this movie last night, THE LOVE SONG OF BOBBY LONG, which sucked in many ways (Travolta trying hard to pull a Bill Murray and failing) but had some stuff going for it (a deliciously beautiful Scarlett Johansson). One of the other things it had was great photography of New Orleans. It really added to the ambience of the movie, hot sweltering summer in New Orleans, shot on location. Anyway, it got me thinking about compiling a list of movie locations that best sum up those locations.

For instance, if I said Philadelphia you'd say TRADING PLACES, if I said Chicago you might say THE BLUES BROTHERS. Washington DC, I'd say SUSPECT or ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN. Baltimore... THE BEDROOM WINDOW. I dunno.

Name your town, or your favorite city-identified film, and the film or town that it most embodies. Not just any old flick with a town in it, but a true CITY FILM, where The City itself is a character.

And no LA or NYC films. They are no-brainers. Name other towns.

Okay, GO!
