How do you like your SPL sub? I'm thinking abut getting the 10", but want some first hand opinions on the series. How does it sound? Does it hit? Does it Blend? Is is smooth? Tight?

Right now I have a PSW550. I love the sound, but it doesn't have much in the way of output.

The Velodyne SPL-1200 blends real well with the Polk Monitors I have. Tight, accurate bass. Buy the 12 inch SPL-1200. If you can't afford it, save up for it. YOU won't be disappointed.

I'm a first time Polk buyer for my HT: :D
    1. Left and Right: RT800i
    2. Center: CS245i
    3. Surrounds: F/X300i
    4. Sub: PSW450

I'm very pleased with my selection after narrowing it down to JBL and Polk -- and I've always wanted Polks, so it was a no-brainer!

maybe i can win the prize for the most unimpressive polk collection. all i have is a pr of AW, white. they are certainly quite nice for their price range & intended use. i use them as "B" spkrs on a 2-ch recvr.

    monitor 7b

    Sold: monitor 10a
    monitor 4
sda srs 2 (Wish I still had these I really miss em)
Sold nonpolk related: klispch kg 2 (really nice sounding bookshelf, wish I had kept them.

Just bought none polk related: Tennessee sound company Symphony 1's in solid cherry. They are the coolest looking bookshelf I have ever saw before, the drivers face the rear of the cabinet and have two wings per driver that reflect the sound waves back into the room.
They also have a damping pad mounted in front and center of each driver to absorb distortion at the voice coil position. the company that made these was local to where I am now and went defunct in the late 80's, turns out the one putting up the funding was I think embezeling the return coins. They came and went like the wind but the resulting speaker sounds really good. if I can get my scanner to work again I will post a pic for you all to take a look at.

    Currently own:

    Polk Signature Reference Theater

    Previous Polks:

    M10
    LS50
    LS70
    LS90 (I miss these)
    RT25
    CS150

All of them sounded like crap. Especially that SRT-- I'm only keeping it since the enclosures are too heavy to move out of the house.

heh, heh. I need to include the middle initial since "Anderson" and even "Mark Anderson" are quite popular in da Minnesota area, don'tcha know. And yet, even with that, there's still others.

I loved the LS series Polk speakers. The rosewood finish was beautiful. I used a trade-up policy through a local dealer which allowed me to buy the M10's, and then each year trade-up to a more expensive pair. I worked through the LS line over the three year period and loved each set. The LS90's are currently with my brother, who got quite the deal on them. I needed cash and he was more than happy to take advantage of that situation. The LS90's are as nice to listen to as they are to look at. Very smooth.

I've relocated the SRT system into a basement HT room. Will try to get pictures up on this web site sometime in the near future. That system wasn't cheap, but it certainly is a whole lotta fun. Very high playback levels without distortion does not bode well for my little ears.
