    So what I have gotten out of all of this is there is no reason to use xlr's for the short run. I am looking to buying them for my sunfire pre to amp. Having not used them before I can't say there is something to gain. Sunfire say's using the balanced xlr's is the the best way to go, and surely it is the easiest.

    Analog II and XLR from Signal Cable cost the same.
