just turned 28 or 26 by Burns' methodology
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

You might consider doing this thread in a "Poll" format. I'm just a math geek that way.

To get an average, the poll format wouldn't work. I think it will only allow 10 categories/brackets.

Say we had a brackets for 16-20, 21-30 yrs(remember only 10 categories allowed to cover the entire range here). So if we did a poll, we would only know how many people are in these age groups by the number of responses, however, we would not know exactly how many people are 16, 17, 18, etc......

But polls are fun.....after, you can take your results and plug them into SPSS, Minitab, or whatever stat pgm you use..

Like I said before, I've never put a poll up. It might be very easy to do, if someone that knows how to do it wants to, then by all means go for it.

I'll still add up everything from this thread and get the average, once everyone who wants to contribute does so. :)

Polls suck for something as diverse as average age because they themselves are using a range and not an actual value as the data points for teh study. That invalidates the data collected because it is not indicative of the population sample. ND13 did the best thing to do and that was to just ask. If you are uncomfotable telling your age then don't. If you think you can build a poll that will get better results than taking a survey then go ahead and try. Your results will not be the same as this survey method. There is another option though. It's called acceptance. Just accept the fact that this is a survey and that the author felt it was the best way that he could collect the desired information.
