Installation Question

Hi. I have just bought a pair of RTi4 , and two pairs of R15 bookshelf speakers. However, the only speaker stand I could find was at a local ikea store.
The speakers are a bit heavy for the stands and the velcro that comes with the stands may not hold the speakers in place properly and may not be stable enough. The top of the stands have 3 holes that can be screwed to the bottom of each speaker for better support and stability.
Is it safe to screw the stand to the bottom of the each speaker or will I damage the speakers?
Thank you in advance,
JB

Return these stands. They are not good for your speakers. Don't put screws into your speakers.
Any kind of Wall mount or speaker stand that requires you to damage your speakers are no good in my book.
head over to your local Tweeter for better stands. Ikea is a nice store but not for audio and video furniture. Cd or dvd holders are ok.

No way...you can ruin your speakers.
Go to an electronics store and look for stands that are meant to hold bookshelf speakers. These stands are more robust and can handle the extra weight of bookshelves.

Best buy carries sanus speaker stands. No ultimate foundations- just the lower end, but they are pretty solid for the price.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19
