Old 8T's - replacement components?

I have this really old pair of 8T floor monitors which I LOVE, but they were given to me by a friend who moved to the opposite coast, and he kinda abused them. All of the low frequencies sound really 'muddy' and I suspect the woofers are blown, and possibly the mids. Is there a place where I can obtain new polk-approved components for these speakers, or is it totally a lost cause at this point? Thanks!

See at the top of this page, in the header where it says 'Service and Parts'?

Click that link, and give Ken at Polk Customer Service a call Tuesday morning. Good speakers, worth fixing (imo).

You need to figure what is, and is not working.

    Cheers,

Wow I was blind! Thanks for pointing that out. Given that I only paid $40 for the things and I'm poor, do you guys have any general concept as to how much these widgets will set me back? I'm probably putting myself into your crosshairs here asking that question, since this is a pretty highly self-selected group of people who love stereos and would (likely) sell all their possessions to get new speaker goodies ;)

Also, is it worthwhile going with the "stock" replacement parts or should I try to upgrade? I'm kinda a newbie with this stuff so treat me nice! :) Thanks for the quick response too!

Get the replacement silk tweeters and the OEM midbass drivers. I have the RTA 8TLs, they were my first Polks and I love them. You'll not have a whole lot of cash in them even after fixing them.
They'll sound better than any modern speaker that would cost the same as you will have in these.
