Being a Polk newbie I just happened upon this forum while trying to find info on my new PSW10 sub and a used pair of RTi28s and CS175i ctr that I picked up this week. Just for clarification let me tell you my search itinerary for the last week...

avsforum.com and audioholics.com for a week trying to get opinions on smaller subs and bookshelf speakers for the sole (90%+) purpose of watching movies on my new 50" Panny DLP and getting nowhere (helpful opinions but very dispersed) with most replying "just go out and buy a HK 635 and a pair of $$$peaker$ and you should be fine". Apparently my "All I want is good quality at 90 dB and don't NEED 108 dB to freak the cat out" didn't come through loud enough.
Came here, found MY sub, MY mains and MY centre, found out how old they were and what they're worth, and am now very happy with my purchase.

That being said... how does one go about getting a grill for a used CS175i or at the very least the little "polkaudio" insignia if I can make my own grill... I actually prefer to make my own, that way I can bend it slightly to look like my psw10 grill

JW

PS Still trying to figure out which is better- RCA Sub out to the left line in of my sub or left-right speaker level thru the sub and out to my mains. Opinions from Polksters would be greatly appreciated :D

Hit the "service and parts" tab on the top center of this page.

BTW, welcome to CP, hang out here long enough and you will find that you really should have gotten the bigger setup that can blow you out of your listening room.

It isn't that you don't need it, it is simply the fact that you can do it.:) :)

Tell me about it;) Had to stick with the WAF a bit tho... next step 28s to the back and RTi8s in front

Also edited a bit while you were replying. Haven't bought the wiring yet, RCA or thru-put? I can go either way. (that didn't come out right)

    TIA

    Use the sub out.
On the receiver, set sub on, crossover to 80, all speakers to small. This will utilize your receivers power more efficiently and clean up your midrange.

RCA or throughput? That has been a fight with Polk for years. Only your ears can tell you what works best.

I started my HT quest with a Polk 5400 sat system years ago and went through alot of variations, 25s, 55s, 70s and finally settled with vintage SDAs.

The search is most of the fun, as long as sanity is present.

    Enjoy!:D

The aforementioned forums are worthless for Polk support, you have come to the right place.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
