There seems to be quite a few CPers in the Great Lakes region. I was just wondering if a gathering in a central local would interest anyone. Let's say late summer/early fall. That way the heat will be dying down. I might be able to get access to a rec room with a pool. Is there any interest?

    hey HEY!!
NOT SO FAST!!!! I am very interested. From what I've read around here, the guys usually like to go to each others' homes for gatherings. But I've never been to one yet and you're practically in my backyard - Hell yes I'm interested!!:D :p  ;)

The rec room is in my subdivision, community pool w/ party room,
gear could be set up there or at my place. I have a 450 sq ft family room. I live in New Castle, IN. It's about 40 miles east of Indy on interstate 70E. Just thought it would be nice. I've never been to one either. Doing one in Indiana might be convenient for alot of people. Ohio, KY, TENN, ILL, MICH, PENN, WVA, MO, WI, all would be within driving distance. I would hope that we could get a pretty decent turnout. I've got connections when it comes to motels/hotels for those who would want to get some rest before venturing home afterwards.

I was kinda shooting for Labor Day weekend. But am open to suggestions.

I'll be back on CP Monday. Computer at home is being devirused.
    Have a nice weekend all.

I'm in Illinois and I'd be interested. Indy isn't that long a drive for me. I agree it would be ideal to meet at a Polkies home, but if something more centrally located is decided then that's fine. Keep us updated Noel. :)

Okay we have 5 most likelys including myself. We're getting somewhere now. I'd like to see some of the New Englanders and those Texas boys also, but I know it's alot to ask for them to drive that far, but maybe a couple of them can make it over/up anyways.

Are members with less than 50 posts allowed?

    Can shy, introverted types attend?

Is there a dress code, or are pants OK?

Where is Indy from the Chicago area? I can only find Indianapolis on the map.

    Thanks in advance.

I would try to make that one myself, but I only get 1 week of vacation/yr and work six days /wk, with only one Saturday /mth off. Since I am going to Memphis the 1st week of August to see my parents, I can't go to the "official" gathering. I understand anyone wanting to go to that instead of coming to my place, I can't even come close to competing with Polk HQ. I'm going to put this off till well after the big event. The only thing about doing it later is that anyone in college will probably not be able to make it.

But anyways, I completely understand anyone wanting to go to the Polk gathering rather than the Driver gathering.

I'm putting the Midwest gathering on hold til further notice, unless of course there's still enough interest to warrant reconsideration. Sorry if anyone feels mislead.

Noel, yeah you with the sexy SRS 2's that were given a good listening by Matt... I'll bet you are just about getting happy now.

I'm bumping this to let you know that I'll be at your gathering when it happens. Since we will be indoors, how about a December get together so the college folks can have the opportunity to attend?

I would have to say inxnay on a winter one for Midwest folks. Ice storms and snow storms don't plan around PolkFests. :(

I might be interested in something next year, but I'm not sure yet. It all comes down to getting time away and pulling myself away from saving for that down payment on a house ASAP. :)

Yes, plus people have holiday gathering crap to do, and those of us in retail would not be able to attend most likely.

What ever, whenever it's decided I'm still in. Everyone has brought up some valid points. Just keep in mind we won't be able to pick a date that will work for 100% of the people :( . Winter would be a scary drive if mother nature lets loose with a storm.

It'll most likely be around Spring Break, that way more of the college members might be able to attend. When the time comes, I'll need to find out the "likely to come" student's week off. That way I can determine which spring break week to pinpoint.

Spring Break??? And miss all that buzzed up, scantily clad, bursting young college girls, just waiting and eager to see what they can get away with cause they're finally out if daddy's grip????

And YOU wanna sit around and listen to AUDIO GEAR???

I'm open to suggestions on when to have one, but it will have to be a ways away, timewise. I won't be able to do it anytime soon, because of some private issues at this time.

The Chicago audio fest is coming up in mid-October at the Homewood Suites in Schaumburg. They have a website up and I'll post it as soon as I get home from work. This might be a good chance for Chicago area CP members to get together!
