I only wish that i'd been able to see some Utopia shows, but luckily the Todd shows have been great.

My first Toidd show, and probably most favorite, was at the Sunrise music theater in Ft lauderdale. 1800 seats IIRC and great acoustics.
I do recall seeing the lineup of events there and the week before Santana had played. Hope that place is still up and running a great venue for small concerts.

BTW, Singring is a great test/demo tune covers the whole spectrum on a set of speakers.

I have it on vinyl sitting in a truck in my garage. RA was a great album. But, no turntable now, maybe someday again.

Is there anything in his catalog, with Singring in DVD A or DD, DTS? I haven't been paying any attention even though he lives out here.

Not so far on that or any other album. Though i'll say that his "live in San Francisco"DVD is one heck of a rocker and is a must see/own if you're into Todd/Utopia.

I think I saw that show from 1977. I lived in SF then. I've seen the DVD A, wasn't sure about the sq, most of those KSAN shows were broadcast over the air and werre'nt that well mixed. I'll take another look at it.

The Mother's consistently put on the best live show I can remember.

The worst? Jimi Hendrix 1968 or 1969 at The Singer Bowl.

I saw the same tour in Oct 88, at Legion Field in Birmingham,Al. I
listed it as the best I'd ever seen, and I'm a Stones fan, but nowhere near their biggest. They just rocked my world that night.
I'll never forget when the stadium was rocking back and forth with the beat because of everyone was rockin. Freaked me out. I'm glad the engineers that designed the place thought of that. I'll bet it was moving several inches.

Saw Little Feat at Winterland around that time (maybe earlier) Van Morrison used to play clubs all the time. I saw him at the Boarding House once or twice. Always wanted to see Mayall.

The Who - think it was in 1972. An unknown band called Lynrd Skynrd opened for them & blew us away. No one would let them open for them after that, so they became headliners.

Also saw The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne together at Anaheim Stadium in Cali. Excellent.

I go to quite a few concerts a year (admittedly mostly of all current artists), but in my short time on this earth:
    1. Bruce Springsteen - Meadowlands New Jersey; never seen a crowd react ond be so involved.
    2. A tie between Counting Crows / Dave Matthews Band - Dave and Adam Duritz are absolutely the most entertaining dudes.
    3. Beastie Boys at Lollapalooza 2 - they are unbelievable.
    4. The Roots - if you've never seen them and you like their music (even if you don't), I can guarantee that you will leave saying "WOW!"
    5. Van Halen - Right Now tour ; nobody that I have seen plays a fifteen minute guitar solo that doesn't ever get boring! More panties were thrown on stage than I have ever seen. Right then and there, I decided I wanted to take guitar lessons (girlfriend - now wife, put the kibash on that one). Every now and then I break out guitar hero on PS2 and she throws her panties at me to make me! Wish it worked every time.;)

    Man or Astro-man?

    ......any show
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I saw them at the Rainbow Ballroom in Pipestone, Minnesota back about that time - I agree, they were excellent! Blue Oyster Cult also played there and put on a great show. Place couldn't have held but a couple hundred people.

But, the best show I have been to was 3rd row center in Kansas City for Rush back in the early ninties.

Genesis - with Peter Gabriel, sometime around 1973. I saw them in a rather small venue. I sat about 15 rows back. It was awesome!:D This was one of the more memorable.

I saw some of the other artist metioned here: Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, The Doors (twice), Rolling Stones (thrice), ZZ Top, The Who, EL&P, I don't think anyone has mentioned Yes, Stevie Wonder (fantastic) opened up for the Stones in '72, Grand Funk, Iron Butterfly, Black Sabbath, Rush and many more.
