I prefer the NOS light bulbs to the more recenty manufactured ones and i feel the added cost is justified because it is obvious to me that the glow is much warmer as opposed to the harsh glow that the inferior newer bulbs can cause.thanks....WCW III

And dont forget about the electrical wires. I find the Home Depot wires put off a soft soothing light where the Lowes wiring is just a little too harsh and bright.

I find my lights are tighter away from the corner...

They are way to over-bearing when corner loaded...

Wires need to be at least 4 inches away from walls, floors, ceilings, and especially corners.
White or clear wires transmit better than black or orange.
    It is a proven fact.

Dont forget the vibration damping. You need a proper mounting surface for the light so vibrations dont cause interferance and distortion. Oh, and ya gotta have a power conditioner.

I must admit you're right, but I believe you also must admit you quickly reach the point of diminishing-returns before you get to those expensive metal halide 'lamps'!

    LOL Hilarious thread!

I have conducted a double blind test on five different brands of bulbs, it was double blind cuz I closed both eyes.

There was no difference in the bulbs during the blind test, they all were rather dark.

    Have a nice day!

I can't believe people are still living in the dark ages of bulb and tube lighting. Surround lighting with LEDs is just incredible.

LED evolution could spell the end for light bulbs

Good articles, very interesting but I prefer the warm glow of uranium.
With uranium I get the soft natural glow of a warm summer day without all the pesky bugs buzzing around the source.

Damn, forget about bulbs that only last 1000s of hours. The MTBF for uranium-235 is 700 million years.
