How many forum members...

does it take to change a lightbulb?

1 - to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 - to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 - to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 - to move it to the Lighting section
2 - to argue then move it to the Electricals section
7 - to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 - to flame the spell checkers
3 - to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 - to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"
6 - to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 - industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 - know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 - to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 - to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 - to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 - to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 - to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 - to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 - to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
5 - to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 - to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 - to say "do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
1 - forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

Borrowed this one, funny as hell. :D

that's hilarious. But I'm surprised they didn't say there were a group of people who tried out different light bulbs and tell you the differences and talk about how one is better than another. Oh and then you'd need Vr3MxStyler2k3 to tell you how he can do it DIY and 14 to follow up telling him how great his DIY bulb is doing. WAAAAAAA!!!

Light bulb (two words) burn-in is REAL. Once they get fully burned-in....

Hey, how about light bulb karma? Someone's surely got some of those nice vintage "100 year" long-life bulbs laying around. They take a long time to burn-in though.

Whatever.... the lightbulbs don't matter for **** if you got your crappy stock 14 guage wire running to them. I rewired my house with 10 guage wire from the breaker box to each light and put a 20a breaker on each. The qualily of the light in my house has improved by 152%

I installed a power conditioner for each lamp (and it is lamp) and found the light to be far warmer than I imagined. The highs were crisp and clean while the shadows were very pronounced.
A small price to pay for the clarity i received in return.

I have conducted a double blind test on five different brands of bulbs, it was double blind cuz I closed both eyes.

There was no difference in the bulbs during the blind test, they all were rather dark.

    Have a nice day!

I would like to know if the quality in light is better with the run of the mill general lightbulbs or is it better with the new twirley type energy efficient ones !

as far the comment about candles the quality is highly affected by the type of wax used...and of course the source of fire !!

I've got my main bulbs toed in a little bit to provide a little more "brightness" to my prime seating position. The center is avove the televsion(too much heat underneath). The side surrounds are ceiling mounted while my rears are mounted approximately 40" above the ground. I set them all on a ladder and had my wife move them around to get opitmal conditions.

Actally, several European homes are going to the energy efficient fluroescent(?) light bulbs. They seem to like them very much and seem to have taken off more there(here right now) than in the US.

BTW, I laughed through the entire thread. I haven't done that for a long time.

Hey wait a cotton picking minute. Why is it that these numskulls have to come in here and talk about light bulbs. If you did any research you'd see we don't change our bulbs like that.

Jeez, where do these freaks come from??? Anybody with half a brain knows the proper way is to get on the ladder and have four friends spin the ladder...

    So there's none (nun) left?

    How about these:

1 to attempt an ebay sale of bulbs in the Flea Market
5 to make comments about impending flame war
6 to **** his **** out about not following the forum rules
10 to **** his out out about not wanting his ebay **** in here
5 to make threats about hunting him down 24/7 on every internet site to make sure he doesn't sell his worthless bulbs
1 to PM the seller to cut a "Behind the Scenes" deal on said bulbs so the forum doesn't find out about it and black list the buyer too.
    No excuses!
