PSW404 Subwoofer won't power on.

I have a PSW404 Subwoofer. I have never had any problems with it or noticed any strange behavior. While watching a movie the other day, I noticed that I wasn't hearing the normal bass sound. I checked my subwoofer and the power light was off. I tried flipping the switch from on/off/auto. I tried another outlet and also tried another cable from my amp to subwoofer. The little power light does not come on nor do I get any sound from it. The subwoofer does generate heat that is felt on the back heat sink (or whatever it is called). I do not have warranty coverage, but would like to try to have it repaired. I did remove the amplifier from the cabinet to check for any obvious signs of damage. I did not notice anything, but I don't really know what I am looking for. Any advice?

Thanks,

Eric

After contacting Polk. I directly connected the woofer with speaker cable and it works fine. I also connected the subwoofer directly to a dvd player with an audio CD. With this I get no audio. I can assume that it is a problem on the amp side. The fuse is not blown. It still generates heat, but no power light.

You should talk to Ken, in Polk customer service, and see what your repair / replace options are. Not that you can't get good info going back and forth on a thread here - just go straight to the man and git 'er done.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Cheers,
