Does anyone have any suggestions on how to safely remove a little dust from the drivers in my Mon 10A's? They are still tacky and since I'm having to replace one of them, I don't want them to look different.

No way, that's just to damn simple. I figured someone would have some elaborate cleaning technique or some miracle concoction.

    It is to simple..

    1) You will need some asbestos. I realize it is illegal to own or use, but come on you are serious about your audio aren't you? Now get out there and find some!

    2) You will need some chess cloth. And I mean cheese cloth, don't go get cheese cloth thinking I mispelled it. Chess cloth is significantly harder to find, but it is well worth it.

    3) You will need a staging area and a cleaning area and a cleaned area. See suplimental instruction sheet #1002a for the setup of each of these areas.

    4) You need an industrial grade high pressure washer. 5000psi should do the trick. What you want to be careful of though is having "to much" pressure. 4999psi is to little and 5000.000001psi is to much. Make sure you get a "good" pressure washer.

    5) Now as to what to do with all this stuff, I don't have a clue, this was all the info I could find out in my searches. The true answer lies somewhere in the sahara dessert. The government has done a very good job in keeping this info a secret but with Harrison Ford AND Nicolas Cage's help I think we can track it down.

    This message will self destruct.....

Maybe all the distortion sticks to mids so we won't hear it.

I had a busty driver at the old house. UPS had trouble getting a shirt that would fit her properly. Used to order stuff just to watch her deliver it.:D

I am curious about this too. My mon 7Cs have cat hair stuck to them from the previous owner. Are you sure windex is safe to put on the drivers with a cloth?... I wouldn't want to mess anything up.

Now I've gotta make some grills, just put in the replacement driver Polk sent me and it doesn't match in appearance. Anyone know why they sent a 6503 instead of a 6500?

    MW65xx Series Consolidation 10-03-2004
    http://clubpolk.polkaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22514

"The MW65xx line is being consolidated into three drivers: MW6502, MW6503, MW6510".

They have probably run out of stock of MW6500's, but give CS a call to be sure.

The only difference I've been able to notice, besides appearance, between the 6500 and the 6503, is that when I did the pressure test(gently pushing in the PR) the new driver doesn't have as much travel. Should this change with break-in? Sonically I haven't noticed any difference. Both of the Mon 10A's have very tight enclosures. It would probably take several minutes for the drivers to recede while holding in the PR. I assume this is what you would want, correct?
