Well, I decided to leave the company a few weeks ago. I hated to do it and certainly will miss it. I was a salesman at the Independence store in Charlotte. Some of the greatest people you can imagine work there.. It's a great store, the biggest by far in charlotte but the worst location. It was difficult to sell high dollar gear with homeless people hanging out in the parking lot. Go figure huh.
My job took a downturn when they devised a nifty little paycut. Basically, if I sold you a 3805 by itself, I didn't make as much money as I did before. But wait! I could make MORE money by selling you a 3805, extended warranty, cabling, clean power, furniture, delivery and custom install to every single customer that walked in the door... Simple huh! After jumping through those hoops I could make an entire 12 bucks more! So it wasn't a paycut in their eyes..even though the company would be paying out less to their employees.
Then our president Jeff Stone went to Tivoli. We couldn't drop the price on discontinued items. We had to open thirty minutes earlier. Couple this with my 40 minute drive on 77, wear and tear on my car, not making much money and countless other tidbits..yadda yadda, whine, complain.. I left. Now I find out they fired our regional manager Josh Lisman who was certainly eccentric *you have to be to work in audio* but a good guy nontheless. He was keeping our chunk of the company running well and doing a good job at it. Personally, with all the situations at hand I think the company is going south and is primed for a buyout.
Now I'm trading options and making enough money to feed this hungry audio habit. I hated to leave the store, but I had to better myself and my situation. I now know so much more about audio from working there and those lessons are priceless. But the stock has a price..and I'll be shorting it all the way down. Sorry to see it happen..especially after my fave speaker company just got the ball rolling in the chain.

Sorry to hear that Liquid.
Alot of people are getting gun shy all over. Many changes. Some good and some not so good. It's like any large company.
I have been with the company for 5 1/2 years now and I have seen many changes. I'm a In Home Installer.
Over my time there and another audio store I worked for, I have learned a great deal. Being in the field is Priceless as well. I get to hear so many different systems ours and exsisting that we are adding 2. Room acoustics play such a huge roll on ones system. Placement is huge as well.
Jeff going to Tivoli was a natural thing. I think he will do well there. there a good quality company for what they are.

I'm curious to see if Tweeter starts expanding out more and becoming the next Ultimate Electronics...without the whole bankruptsy thing...Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

Tweeter won't go the way of the big chains. That's certain death. They're getting into peoples homes..doing the custom thing. Install is their game and they're good at it. They have the largest install crew in the states, if I'm not mistaken.Two Channel Main
