Good train of thought. Take the longest mortgage you can, and invest the difference in a mutual fund. Depending on your tax bracket, you may only be paying somewhere on the order of 4% on your 6% mortgage anyway. (Effectively after the write off) either way you go. Should be a sound investment for you, and that is a huge house. When I retire and sell my home in Southern Cali, that is exactly what I am going to do, get myself a big house somewhere east of here, (got to bypass the Phoenix area as the prices are getting high out there as well), maybe hit Dallas......

    Again, congrats...

Alright, well, I am in and I have the essentials in place. Cable TV, internet, mattress on the floor and coffee maker hooked up. Its pretty much going to come to a crawl once the 2 channel is up and running.

congrats, Shelby! sounds like you are up and running, I was able to ignore my HT/2 channels and go on HIFI hiatus for 7 years, before I get sucked in back into gear spending. Furniture were high on the agenda, once you passed that milestone, gears spending will come naturally...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
