I attended the Johns Hopkins U lacrosse game yesterday. They wiped the field with Loyola college, 12-6. I shot this from the stands using my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR lens. Basic settings were, 1/1000th shutter, f3.2, cont focus and auto WB +1 at 200mm. See the ball frozen at the base of the stick head?

Anyone else into sports photography? Post them pics!

John

I'm not into sports photography but here's one I did. It doesn't come out too well on the web. It is a picture of Crown Point in the Columbia Gorge

Wow, that's some awesome photography! I'm interested in the hobby, but I haven't spent much time at it recently. I'm afraid I may be more interested in the technology than in the photos, though I am elated when one comes out right. I take some photos of a group I play badminton with, but considering we play indoors and I have a Cannon A80, they never come out real well. I may post a few of the best ones when I get my desktop back online.

    Nice shots everyone!

I don't have any sports pictures, but I've got lots of other pictures. Most of mine are of people who don't want their pictures posted ;)

    This one won't care though.

Here's another one I thought was nice. It needs a little explanation though: This was taken outside my Mom & Dad's house one evening a few weeks ago. It was one of those days where there were dark clouds all day, then just before sunset, the sun peeks out underneath the clouds. The dark sky, yellow-green new growth on the trees, and the low sun shining down the valley made for a really nice shot. It was changing quick and this is the only shot I got.

Nice shots guys! I'm really enjoying photography. Now that the weather has warmed up, I'll be doing all kinds of shooting. Sports, nature, models outside, etc...

Here's another from the Hopkins game. You can see #41 just threw the ball to #20. It just left his LAX stick.

Nice photos for sure, guys. You may have seen this one in a thread I started last week, but I think it's a pretty good pic.

EDIT: Ok, I can't post a duplicate pic. Here's the thread with that pic.
