Amp warning light

I have two pioner 12s 150W norm 600W max when i plug them in to my mosfet 300W amp they make the warning light come on. I cant figure this out I took the speakers back out of the box and made shure the wiring was correct and it was. they smell a litle funny like they got fryed but i am not shure if it is the box that smells.... please right back.
