Is there any difference in output quality if I use Multichannel audio output vs. Analog outputs on 2900?
Does 2900 has a separate output stage for Analog and MC outputs?
Currently I have connected both Analog and MC outputs to my receiver so I have total 8 IC's connected.
I would like to reduce the number of IC's

I don't know, I think the unit uses different DAC"s in both places but I could be very wrong.
As usual the best way to decide is listen.
First use the cd input for the 2 channel analog out, then setup the external in to another input. This is so you can switch on the fly and hear the difference instantly. Make sure your using all the same interconnects so no difference is there. If the 2 channel analog sounds better playing cd's then leave it alone and be Effed with the wires, if it sounds the same or better on the multichannel input , then scrap the 2 channel and listen to it there.
