Er . . . um. . . it didn't???3
Dane you more than anyone else should know what I am talking about in that I purchased the power center from you. So yeah I don't get the sarcastic reply. -
I think it's just too hard to discern the "tone" people speak with online. Both posts were probably a little misinterpreted.
Let me reword my question, and we'll all try to cut out the sarcasm..
Should I plug my receiver directly into my Monster HTS3600 power center, or directly into the wall? And will the power center restrict the performance of a Magic Power cable if I decide to invest in that upgrade?
There. Didn't mean to step on people's toes! It's been a long weekend of moving, so I'm little stressed. :P -
I seriously doubt your AVR will ever draw enough power to worry about it. However, read up on what the power center passes and what your AVR's maximum wattage draw is. There will be your answer.Political Correctness'.........defined

Makes total sense. Thanks, F1.

hearingimpared wrote:I have to ask, were you listening to CDs or LPs of those awesome recordings?
CD's (see equipment list at end of post).hearingimpared wrote:Next question: CRS, do they really need upwards of 200 wpc? I realize that they are really good performers but never thought they would need that much power. I have a pair that Antny gave me and I'm planning on using them in the master bedroom.
Try a few amps and hear for yourself. Their small size (relative to other SDA's) might lead you to think that they wouldn't need a big amp, but I preferred the sound of my CRS+'s with a 200 amp. I use a 200 wpc Adcom GFA-555 Mk II with the CRS+'s at work and a 200 wpc Adcom GFA-5500 with the CRS+'s in my home office.
I thought I could get by with less power for the CRS+'s at work because I can't turn them up loud (during regular work hours ). I tried a couple of lower power amps: Sony TA-F808ES 90 wpc integrated amp, Adcom GFA-5400 125 wpc, but they were not as dynamic and satifying in the lower registers.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -

As far as misinterpretation goes that is why we have the emotion icons available. If you look at my reply to your first post you will see that I used a grin to finish my answer to your question, no harm, no foul dude, enjoy your new place and the fact the you have a rig up. Have you listened to "The Art of the Ballad" yet?.
As you can probably imagine, the very first thing to get moved in and set up was my new HT rig. The surrounds arrived just in time yesterday, ready for the big game. We're having a bit of a house warming party tonight, despite hardly being moved in yet.
I unpacked the Art of the Ballad disc last night, but it was too late to give it a listen. I'm looking forward to it though. -
Looking good. Congrats on the new place.Political Correctness'.........defined
