I have dicovered these are just plain ELECTRIC wires, 12 gauge.
From this link http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htm,
It supports my finding.

One of the polkbrother claimed the link as untruth, he used HmDEPOt speaker wires. I think he overlooked at the link, it is advised that not to use HD speaker wires...............USE electrical wires with heavy insulation...14 gauge and above.

There so much theory about wires as discused in the forum and I am still worried what wires to choose. WHAT WE need here is REAL ENGINEERS who work for these multiple companies like cobalt and monster cables and etc... to give THE TRUTH.

As an engineer, I have questioned electrical engineers and sound engineers regarding this matter. An electrical engineer's theory (not a audiophile individual) claimed through his schooling, wires matter gauge wise and insulation wise!!!! On the other end, sound engineer STUDENT claimed otherwise (also not an audiphile person). The issue is still open.

I believed I need to cancel my $450 cobalt wires ordered this morning, 40% off :coupon-> TAXDAY. UNLESS, someone give me the FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truth...........must be told.

The truth is that it's all subjective, some beleive it, and some don't. You won't ever get a straight-up answer either way.
Personally, I beleive cables help to a certain degee.

Since you're holding us all hostage " UNLESS, someone give me the FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I would say cancel your order. You obviously are not comfortable with your purchase. Maybe you should do a little more research. I purchcased a single pair of the utlimate audio interconnects today to give them a try. Would I have purchased what you did? No.

    Dude,
wires on the internet??? I'm not feeling it. I see so many online wire companies taking common Install grade wire , dressing it all up, making there customers feel all warm and fuzzy because it Looks good and selling it. Again I'm not feeling it.

I am in the industry and I get to meet engineers all the time. Wire companies are hard to sort out and is why I feel there is so much confusion.

Companies like Kimber Kable, Monster cable, Straight wire, Cardas, Transparent , MIT, Ixos, Audioquest, Nordost have all earned my respect one way or another. Even Monstercable has earned my respect for what they do and how good there cables are built.

My problem with a cable company is the fact alot of these online companies are not designing the wire itself. The above mentioned companies do.

Finding the right wires for your system is a task that no one can tell you what to use. You have to be willing to go though trail and error to find your way. What works for one person may not work for your system. Using high quality wire from anyone will yield good performance. I don't care who you buy it from. The hard part is finding the correct sound your looking for.

Good luck with your wires there,

    Dan

    A couple quick things.

It's not anyone's job here to convince you of anything, for or against.

As a bonus, guess what? You don't have to buy them, to try them. I suggest you sign up for the cable swap program offered on this VERY forum.

Then you get some REAL WORLD experience, from a variety of interconnect, power, and speaker cable manufacturers, and you can form your own informed opinion - rather than just going of something that 'reads well' on the internet.

    Cheers,
    Russ

much respect to all of you...............Have already cancelled the order. However, instead of ordering bulk I'll probably order in small qty and test them first. I have one more question to ask, If I ordered a long cobalt cable (15meters) and sliced them into 3, is this a good idea. I have monster connectors to be used and soldering kit.

Thorough test will be conducted to both wires, fully insulated electrical wire vs Cobalt wires. 10 gauge will be used. Watch for updates. I have ordered 3 X 3m of Cobalt wires and 1 x 15m Cobalt.

Do you have ten gauge wire on the back side of the speaker wire terminals of your receiver/amp?
