I have just become a car audio fan again. Too bad the only thing I have to install them in is a Toyota Sienna:mad:

Hmmm, Matt Polk's instructions must have got crossed somewhere in the company. The new "Signature Reference Series" was supposed to be in home audio, not in car audio. ;)

That system would work wonders in my Bose-mobile though.

Not sure I would put something in my car that COST AS MUCH as the LSi... lol

    At 700-800 a pair...ya know ;)

Oh yeah, I'm tossin out the MB Quarts I have for these. They will be mine, oh yes... they will be mine.

I bet you could install those components and crossovers into a bookshelf case and have some killer bookshelves.

I wonder where the matching subs are?

What good would LSi type car speakers be for 99% of the people that actually buy car audio are looking for?

If they're anything like the home LSi's, they're not meant for loud, slamming, window thumping type of music.......

Wow! What asshattery! I hope none of you monkeys are looking for responses to your grossly exaggerated stereotypical claims and narrow-minded whining.

phuz, I asked the same thing about the subs. I don't even know if they are planning a subwoofer for the SR line. This stuff isn't going to hit stores until mid-May at the earliest and there may be more speakers coming out too. Dunno yet. Oh and you saw that the MB Quart name is no more, right? I forget what the new name is going to be or what the nitty gritty details are but there was a post about it in the Car Audio & Electronics forum.

Until I get my new car, this 'monkey' isn't looking even within the realm of car audio.

Out of 11 comments I see ONE person complaining about people with thumping cars not appreciating them... overreact much?

Cry me a fricking river! Everyone that posted aside from phuz and okipolkie had something disparaging to say whether it was about "duuuuuhhh...if you wanted an LSi for 800, why don't you just buy LSi9's" to comments about loud bass based on statistics pulled out of one's ****.

All this from a single line post telling people to go look at a new product from Polk. Sure, I expected there to be comments and questions that people would talk about and answer but this time, the posts were, for the most part, stupid and totally missed the point.

All I did was state that. Seems like you're the only one with your panties in a bunch over it.

This thread is going nowhere fast. Lets get back to the topic.

Polk is making a flagship set of mobile components using LSi technology. Car components, with a ring radiator tweeter! SWEET.

Jstas- the forementioned comment about "buying LSIs if you wanted to spend the money" was being directed at the person who posted about buying the drivers and just sticking them in bookshelf cabs for home use. Those particular comments were not directed toward car audio.

I see one negative comment about loud, thumping music lovers not wanting these. Perhaps Brett neets to understand that not all Car Audio lovers are into mind-numbing bass. I, myself, have a very modest car system that I think sounds very good for what I want.

    Anyway, that's my take.

Wow......what little twits we seem to have here.

LSi's in the Home Audio environment do a very certain type of music well, and most others adequately.

How many people are listening to the type of music they listen to at home in the car to warrant a system that's designed from what the HA versions are.

Maybe they'll get me all wet and excited so I can come here and praise the lord for bestowing me with this opportunity to see something new, or maybe I'll hate them and come here to give y'all the finger like I would be if I could find the smiley link.

I only said duh if you want Lsi's buy Lsi9's because someone suggested buying the car Lsi's and putting them in a bookshelf encolsure. That doesn't really make sense considering Lsi9's would be the same price.

I don't care if someone wants to put Lsi's in their car, whether it be for loud bass or quality music, and I never mentioned anything about putting them in your car. You might wanna read the whole thread next time before you start an argument.

I cant wait for these things to come out. Ive been wanting Polk to come out with a high end set to compete with the DLS and Focals out there and now they finally have. I figure if SoundDomain carries them, we can get them for $600 or so. Now I just need to scrape together $600!! I gotta have em!

    Just a thought:
The morons that put 4, 15" subs in their trunk powered by 10 flea market amps and stock speakers running off the head unit make up a lot less than 99% of car audio enthusiasts. Its just these people are the only ones you hear and notice. True SQ systems can rarely be heard outside the vehicle.

You should go to an IASCA, USACi or MECA sound quality competition and listen to a real SQ setup. I assure you, you will be suprised how good a car stereo can sound. Right now, the only difference between my home and car system is my home system images a little better cause Im not sitting right beside one of the speakers. Other than that, my humble Polk/MTX system sounds quite good with excellent detail and tonallity and its far from competition level.

I cant speak for everyone, but I can say that the music I listen to at home is the exact same i listen to in my truck!
You know, theres actually people out there that set there vehicles up for sound quality. Lame **** remarks that generalize everyone that has aftermarket speakers in their car like "they're not meant for loud, slamming, window thumping type of music" is not only ignorant, its stupid. I'm sure when Polk was making these speakers, the teenage crowd was not what they were marketing too.

On a side note, I'm extremely glad these speakers aren't MOMOs...

Why are you glad they aren't MOMOs? I thought the momo mark just meant MOMO pissed on them or something, I didn't think it actually meant anything about the speaker.

Cody, go shove a cookie down your throat ya lil ****.

Of all the people I've seen/heard with their customized systems, it's not sound quality I've noticed they were going for.

I don't give a flying $hit what you have in your car or why. Your opinions on my opinions don't mean squat and if you don't like my opinions, tough $hit.

Minus the vulgarity, its pretty close to reality :)

The speakers are meant for the professional guy who wants great sound, an SQ competitor, or just someone who wants great sound. I would imagine lots of the SR6500s will go into Mercedes, BMW, and the like. But then again, I'm no psychic, so I guess we'll all see what happens.

Mercedes used to put Bose in their cars. I think they have graduated to harmon kardon systems now. Hopefully they will put these in their cars but I wouldn't bet any money on it.

I dont think this speaker will be exclusively in BMW and Benz's. You dont see Focals and MB Quarts only in those cars do ya? There will be plenty of normal, blue collar cars with some of these in em. You dont have to drive a $50,000 car to have high end speakers.

Gimmie some full-range 5.25's with whizzers and paper cones on the head unit, with a brick-wall 80Hz high pass, and Zobel network, and a sealed box, single driver entry level Polk sub on a Jensen 200w amp, and I'm as happy as a **** in the bouncy balls.
