i havin heard the sda- srs-1.2-tl im going by what i have set up in my sysem i have the rt-20p and the klipcsh rf-7 sound better they cost about the same, im going by whats in my system thats only fair. my stuff is old to, except the cs-400i witch will be as good or better than the klipsch center. and on price the klipsck center is almost $800 but the klipsch rf-7 sounds better than the polk rt-20p powerd tower. and the klipsch was in a real nice theater set up for sound. if i brough my polks to the theater and gave them a listen it mite change.

the 4004 is certainly 'high end' - it's a class 'B' Stereophile recommended component

This is another interesting thread on the Polk board! :)

As you know, I run tube gear. While many may assume this means I have a snob desire OR others might assume that my gear was expensive. The truth is, it is not either of these things. I like how clean tubes sound, how detailed they can be, their smoothness, etc. My tube gear was also an aboslute steal of a price, I found the amp in a not-so-audio store in the consignment shelf for $300. That's right, a fully functional $1500 amp for $300! At $1500, it would have taken me a while to justify the price to myself... but at $300, who could pass up? The amp, literally, costs $1150 from the factory + $200 or so for fancier tubes.

So, you can spend a little or a lot, depending on how much foolishness and/or dedication you have to the hobby. Some people will fork over cash to the highest priced item because it must be better. Others will listen and let their ears be the judge. Others like to tinker.

That's all I have to say about high-end audio for now. :)

My aforementioned JoLida 502A is, if I recall, a Stereophile Class 'C' component, and that's from the factory. New caps and wires, you can make 'em even better.
