I thought it was fun too! Wasn't expecting anything profound, and I got nothing profound, but it was fun and the audio was pretty decent.

Ditto. Don't like the lead "actress" (don't know her name) and she can't fight, but the movie held my interest, which was more than I expected. The girl with fever was cool.

The word "fun" should be banned from this thread.

Sorry this movie didn't do it for me.

Maybe it was the bad acting and the horrid dialogue - "you speak in riddles old man !" I half expected for the very tanned Terrence Stamp (in a very undignified cap) to reply "it's what I do best !"

The Mr. Miagi healing method was unintentionally funny and same with the interrogated ninja breaking his own neck ! Oh and ya gotta love those "turn your back on your enemy at the worst possible time" moments as well.

Why they needed "mini-elektra" should've been explained better. Sure she knew a few fight moves but when ya gotta villain sprouting wolves, snakes , eagles and what not- than he may have a leg up on talent over ya. Though the guy had one very dumb MAJOR weakness.

Quick cuts and MTV style editing in fighting didn't help either.

The director obviously loved "HERO" as you could see numerous homages/ripoffs of the Yimou masterpeice.

The only saving grace was seeing Jennifer Garner in a few Fredericks of Hollywood outfits but than she bordered on being quite "mannish-looking".

Just another "check your brain at the door" movies that could be even more enjoyable if you see it as a comedy.....so bad it's good !

I finally rented and watched this and pretty much thought it sucked.

Garner is hot and all but she couldnt save this thing.

First off its painfully slow. Youre sitting there for the first hour going, "when is something going to happen?"

Second NOTHING is explained. After watching the movie the first thing that went thru my mind was, "what the hell just happened?"

Who were these bad guys? Why would they turn into smoke when they died? Who was the brat? Why were they chasing her? What is a treasure? What happened to Elektra's dad? Better yet, why did they kill her mom?

Third the fight scenes were 2nd rate at best. Very slow and clumsy.

Bottom line, I would not recommend this for rental not even in the $.99 bin. Wait til it comes on cable or something and watch it for free. Even then youll find yourself flipping between this and Law and Order re-runs.

Id give it a 2 out of 10. It wouldve been a 1 except Garner has a really nice ****.

Saw this one for the first time last night also and it was much better than I was anticipating. Some pretty cool CGI. IMO, a better flick than Daredevil.

I just couldn't figure out how after getting her **** handed to her by the Hand(?) how she so easily dispatched his ****. But I guess she can't lose or there couldn't be any sequels, huh?

Overall, it was as good or better than MOST of the comic book based movies that have been coming out of the woodwork the last few years.

If you enjoyed the theaterical version, go and at least rent the Director's Cut. A better, more serious film and a better soundtrack.

He was killed in Daredevil. But yes, movie didn't explain a lot of things, biggest being what was the treasure. Bad movie, I only Netflixed it too see Garner (yes, she can't act but she is eyecandy).
