LSI 25 Hookup questions

I have my LSI 25's connected to a Yamaha RX-V992 as follows: receiver high level output (set to front small) to the top speaker connectors and the receiver sub out to the LFE inputs. I took out jumpers that connect both inputs on the speaker. This would bypass the low frequency part of the crossover in the LSI's wouldn't it? This setup was recommended by the Sound Advice person that sold me the speakers. It seems like it would be using the receiver for frequency distribution duties versus letting the speaker crossover do its job for low frequencies. Is this the hot setup?

There are a few way to connect the Lsi25's to your system.
The way you have em how is best suited for homt theater use. The sub sections in the Lsi25's are very good.
If you where more intrested in music over theater I would suggest a different approach.
What is your complete system?

I purchased the LSI 25's to replace Two Infinity RS525's and a 12" 120 Watt JBL Powered sub.
I use the speakers in a home theater config watching TV and DVD's.
I turn off all effects and listen to just the LSI 25's for music CD's with receiver bass and treble flat. They are phenominal. I would like to continue to upgrade components as the budget permits. I would like to add more LSI's for the center and rear. I got the 25's over the 15's so I could get rid of the JBL sub. You are right the 25's do have quite a woofer section. I usually have the speaker amps set to less than half volume in this config.SuperDave

Before you add more Lsi series speakers to your system, You gotta upgrade the rxv992. I used to own that receiver many years ago.
I suggest you look into B&K at Sound Advise, They should have some good deals on the AVR507. Talk to your salesman .

Checked out all the B&K stuff, looks good but I need to keep saving. Around 3k for the AVR, how much for separates? I sure hope its a good bang for the buck. Looks top notch.SuperDave
